Kaustinen é um lugar onde a música sempre foi mais do que um passatempo — é uma forma de pertencer ao mundo. A tradição do violino de Kaustinen foi inscrita na Lista Representativa do Património Cultural Imaterial da Humanidade da UNESCO em 2021 — um reconhecimento de uma tradição viva que continua a crescer e a evoluir. O seu programa oscila entre o repertório tradicional e arranjos frescos e ousados, por vezes majestosos, por vezes ardentes, mas sempre autênticos. Da Finlândia vêm os virtuosos do violino Erkki Virkkala e Iikka Huntus, trazendo uma energia alegre e uma habilidade deslumbrante. A este duo junta-se o bailarino e músico Viljami Timonen, igualmente habilidoso com as cordas do bandolim quanto com os sapatos de dança.

Kaustinen is a place where music has always been more than just a pastime — it is a way of belonging to the world. The Kaustinen fiddle tradition was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2021 — a recognition of a living tradition that continues to grow and evolve. Their programme ranges from traditional repertoire to fresh and daring arrangements, at times majestic, at times fiery, but always authentic. From Finland come the violin virtuosos Erkki Virkkala and Iikka Huntus, bringing a joyful energy and dazzling skill. Joining this duo is the dancer and musician Viljami Timonen, equally adept with the strings of the mandolin as he is with his dancing shoes.
