Tiia Strandén and Johanna Pitkänen from FILI are in Warsaw this week meeting publishers at the Warsaw Book Fair, which opened today, as well as students of Finnish language and potential future translators at the university.
Yesterday, together with the Embassy of Finland in Poland, FILI also hosted an afternoon event for Polish publishers, translators of Finnish literature, and other publishing professionals at the Ambassador’s Residence. An inspiring event full of new contacts, and great discussions!
And tomorrow, at the EUPL ceremony, the winner of the European Union Prize for Literature will be revealed. The Finnish nominee is Susanna Hast with her outstanding novel Despair (Toivottomuus, S&S, Brunn Agency).
