TOGETHER is organised by Helsinki Pride Community. TOGETHER is a peer supportive group for lgbtiq*-people that are refugees or seeking an asylum in Finland. The aim is to support wellbeing, strengthen social networks and offer information about rights and services in Finland to lgbtiq*-asylum seekers and people with refugee background. The participants of TOGETHER also want to raise awareness abo
ut lgbtiq*-issues to impact the immigration sercives, asylum process and society in general, as there are many issues that need to be developed for safety and equality of all people. You may have just arrived or stayed here for a while. You are welcome to join our group to meet new people from different backgrounds and enjoy a safe and friendly atmosphere. In the group we will get to know each other and have discussions on various themes. TOGETHER is open for lgbtiq*-people over 18 years old. In the group we speak English and have volunteers assist Arabic speakers. Also French, Russian and Farsi are possible. The group meetings are held weekly at HeSeta’s social space, which is located in Kaapelitehdas cultural centre in Ruoholahti district. All the participants are met in private meetings before joining the group to ensure safety and give more detailed information to all participants.
