🚛 WICTU4 – Generators have arrived in Chernihiv!

We are proud to share that the first 17 generators from the WICTU4 project have now arrived in Chernihiv region.

With capacities ranging from 50 to 200 kW, these generators will be distributed among critical infrastructure companies and social facilities across the community.

For Chernihiv, reliable backup power is essential. As the community prepares for the coming autumn and winter, these generators will help ensure that vital services can continue operating even when the regular power supply is disrupted.

This is exactly why WICTU4 matters: turning donations into real, practical support where it is needed most.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to making this delivery possible — Lions members and clubs around the world, our partners, and the organizations supporting the transportation and coordination of this humanitarian aid.

And this is only the beginning.

Kharkiv region is next, and with continued support, we hope to extend WICTU4 to Kyiv and other communities in need.

Thank you for helping us bring power, resilience and hope where it matters most. ❤️

Together, we serve. Together, we make a difference.

🚛 WICTU4 is on the move!

The first trucks loaded with generators are now on their way.

After months of fundraising, coordination and preparation, we are proud to see WICTU4 moving from plans into action. These generators are heading to communities where reliable electricity is desperately needed.

The region of Chernihiv is first. The region of Kharkiv will follow. Together, these deliveries will provide much-needed power to homes, schools, medical facilities, emergency services and other essential locations.

And we want to do more.

Kyiv has also submitted an urgent request for generators. With continued support and new donations, we hope to make Kyiv the next destination in this important mission.

This is what WICTU4 is all about: turning generosity into action and bringing power where it is needed most.

A huge thank you to all Lions, clubs, partners and donors who have made this possible. ❤️

Behind the scenes, the WICTU 4 team has been working tirelessly, and we're excited to share some great progress.

Thanks to the incredible support of our donors and partners, we have now raised over €1.2 million for the WICTU 4 project.

The first two trucks, loaded with generators, are scheduled to depart within the next few weeks, bringing reliable power to communities that need it most. In addition, two more trucks are already being prepared for the next deliveries.

Every generator delivered means electricity for homes, schools, medical facilities, emergency services, and local businesses. It means safer communities, better healthcare, and new opportunities.

None of this would be possible without your support. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make a real difference.

More updates will follow soon—stay tuned! 🦁

A midsummer greeting from our WICTU4 management team to Lions across the world.
As summer begins, we encourage all Lions to recharge their batteries and enjoy well‑deserved rest — knowing that our WICTU4 team will continue working tirelessly throughout the summer with logistics and transport of generators into Ukraine.
We are now steadily approaching €1.2 million donated, and fundraising for WICTU4 will continue at least until October. Every contribution helps us bring power, safety and hope to communities in need.
To everyone who has supported WICTU4 — and to those who may be considering joining — thank you. Together, we keep this mission moving forward.

The WICTU project, why are we doing this? Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and as the war continues, attacks have increasingly targeted the country’s critical energy infrastructure, particularly electricity generation and distribution systems.
As a result:
• Large areas of Ukraine experience regular or permanent power outages
• Electricity supply is rationed nationwide
• Hospitals, schools, kindergartens, public services, and emergency response systems are at risk

The Government of Ukraine, together with national authorities, the European Union, and the European Commission, has appealed to the international community to provide generators to help mitigate the growing electricity shortage.

The WICTU4 program focuses on providing medium-sized generators to support families and public spaces for heat, light, and electricity. To read about the challenges Ukrainians experience living without electricity, this story from February of 2026 by UN Women provides some narratives: https://eca.unwomen.org/en/stories/news/2026/02/massive-blackouts-in-ukraine-what-it-means-for-women-and-girls

In an incredibly short time, we have reached an extraordinary milestone: €1,000,000 donated to the campaign.

One million euros. One million reasons for hope. One million ways to make a difference.

Lions Clubs International members across Europe and around the world have united in solidarity, leadership, and compassion to support Ukrainian families facing the devastating impact of war.

The Lions generators will bring light, warmth, and vital energy to communities where critical energy infrastructure has been destroyed. Together, we are not only restoring power — we are restoring hope.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, supported, and believed in this mission. This is what happens when we stand together.
