Areas of work
AGRICULTURE
HEAN provides extension support services to small farmers which include implementation of modern production techniques including access to improved seed and disease resistant varieties of plants and animals to tackle extreme poverty and hunger. ENVIRONMENT
HEAN is determined in the effort to reverse the loose of environmental resources and to sustain existing values thro
ugh its advocacies and programmes. Businesses and individual activities have caused tremendous degradation to the global environment. Our concern and programmes promote actualization of Millennium Development Goals on environmental sustainability through various conservative and climate change projects. GENDER EQUALITY
The Gender Equality clause implies a society in which women and men enjoy same opportunities, outcomes, rights, and obligation in all aspects of life. Women empowerment is vital to sustainable development and in the realization of human rights for all. Our dedications and programmes are critically designed with the desired aim of emancipating the female gender, stop women violence, child labour, early marriage/child bearing, and also to encourage girl-child education. HEALTH
Health is the totality in a person’s well-being in mind, body and spirit. It is often agreed that “health is wealth”, and that health is the most precious and inevitable assets to life. Our effort in providing health care support includes but are not limited to programmes that offer medical assistance and intervention, promoting sanitation and hygiene and campaigning against ‘killer’ diseases like cancers, HIV/AIDS, STDs, tuberculosis, Polio, and other neglected diseases. INFORMATION
Information is an inevitable resources meant to be available to man-kind regardless of format, channel, or location. It is said and believed that “a population that is not informed is deformed”. HEAN capitalizes on this fact and provides reformative and valuable information to the public using media and designed programmes. SANITATION
It is estimated that about 2.5 billion of the world’s population are without proper sanitation or toilets. HEAN is surrounded by a team of professionals in the field of sanitation and public health sector who brain storm daily in developing innovative and sustainable projects. IMMIGRANT INTEGRATION AND CULTURE
Globalization and humanitarian crisis all over the world are causing growth in amount of immigrants and refugees. This has lead in to new kind of challenges in societies. Cultural differences and differences in social systems, as well as religion conflicts and false prejudices create problems between immigrants and local inhabitants. There is lot of misunderstandings that could be solved by providing information and creating channels for objective discussion. HEAN operates between these groups in order to prevent conflicts and problems related to cultural differences and ethnicity. HEAN also provides practical help and assistance for immigrants related to daily issues and eases their integration into new society. Our goal is also to increase public awareness of cultural differences and to help local people also to adjust towards changing structure of population
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
With the design of the 21st century Youth Empowerment Programme we are in the business of transforming the lives of the youths by positively engaging them through fellowships and youth empowerment programs such as I.C.T, Entrepreneurship, and skills acquisitions. We also achieve this life transforming programs through well-structured seminars, lectures and talk-shows. Youths are specifically agents of transformation due to their energy, enthusiasm, dynamism and drive. Therefore, we target youths to harness their various talents through providing them with the appropriate information, concepts and insights. Every of our empowerment program is designed to make them independent, well equipped, and global compliant so they could face the challenges of the 21 century. A 21st century youth should be smart, creative, highly innovative, and very intelligent. S/he must be somebody who desires to be successful in life. An empowered youth is business oriented; he has quality entrepreneurship skills. Above all, he is independent minded; he is spiritually conscious; he is emotionally stable; he is economically balanced, and psychologically sound. These programs are concentrated at developing their potentials in I.C.T, entrepreneurship and skill acquisition irrespective of their professions and level of education. We have provisions for the part-time, full-time and weekend programs designed to accommodate individual specializations. Online and offline learning programs are also available. Since the 18th century, the world has experienced three different eras, namely: the Stone Age, Industrial Age, and currently the Information Age (I.C.T). This era is not the era of struggling and hard labour, nor for routine office work; it is a period that best serves the informed, the most inspired and the well networked. Youths of developing countries lack the right direction on engaging their talents positively so as to exploit the gains of the Internet and the enormous businesses that abound. Business opportunities abound in the net only if the youths could redirect and channel their energies and time in learning more empowering skills like web-design, e-marketing, e-advertisement, e-commerce, bulk-sms, blogging and stuffs too numerous to mention.
