Pro Lapinlahti Mental Health Association including MIITTI is facing significant funding cuts, which are challenging our work.
Despite this, we will continue to reduce loneliness and strengthen mental well-being through culture and low-threshold social activities. 💚

More tickets available! Have you heard about the acclaimed documentary film that tells the story of Lapinlahden Lähde, an old psychiatric hospital? ”The Battle for Lapinlahti”, directed by Klaus Welp, sold out its first screenings, so if you missed out on tickets, there is still a good chance to see the film in theaters – even today! The Friday's show is at 4:15 p.m. in Kino Engel, Helsinki city center. The film has texts in English.

Today, Lapinlahti is an important center of art, culture, and mental well-being for many of us city dwellers, offering a wealth of free events, but the road has not been easy!

In the words of Mika Kaurismäki, Finnish film director: "This is a film that every Helsinki resident should see."

And not just Helsinki residents – the film presents a universal example of the real possibilities of civic engagement and how sometimes a place is so important and meaningful to people that they are willing to fight passionately for it to the very end.

Welcome to the interesting and touching exhibition that opened today at Lapinlahden Lähde!

Suppor Point Mosaiikki: Bringing Us Together – Photo Exhibition
24.11.-15.12.2025
Gallery Välitila, 1st floor (In between Café Lähde and Käytävägalleria)
Mon-Sat 11-17, Sun 12-17

The Bringing Us Together photo exhibition is the result of a photography workshop carried out with the clients of Support Point Mosaiikki. Support Point Mosaiikki is run jointly by the Sininauha Foundation and the Finnish Red Cross for people living undocumented or at risk of becoming undocumented.

The workshop, coordinated by a Social Services student from Laurea University of Applied Sciences completing an internship at the Sininauha Foundation, consists of three parts: a photography excursion, group meetings, and the creation of the exhibition.

During the autumn 2025 photography trip, participants explored both urban Suvilahti and the scenic Mustikkamaa. The walk covered nearly nine kilometres. The photos for the exhibition were chosen collectively, sparking many shared discussions. Finally, the exhibition was installed and hung together with the workshop participants.

The exhibition’s partner at Lapinlahden Lähde is MIITTI, run by the Pro Lapinlahti Mental Health Association.
