🌈 The most colourful football tournament of the year, Respect Pride, will be played at Töölö football field on Thursday, June 25, from 16:00 to 21:00.

The Finnish Red Cross football team FC Keskari will take part in the mixed division of the tournament.

Come cheer on FC Keskari and your other favourites! ⚽🎉

The tournament is organized by H.O.T. ry in cooperation with the Finnish Workers’ Sports Federation, the Responsible Sports Association project, the Football Association of Finland, and multicultural organizations Liikkukaa – Sports For All ry and RASMUS ry.

Have a safe Midsummer! ❤️💦

Due to several factors, drownings are more common in Finland during the Midsummer weekend than on other summer weekends.

If you recognize a drowning situation, call 112 immediately. See the images for guidance on how to identify it. Share this information with others!

In Finland, around 150 people drown accidentally each year. Most drownings could be prevented with the right safety attitude and preparation.

🛟 Always wear a life jacket when boating.
🛟 Stay sober on the water – including when swimming.
🛟 Never jump into water unless you are sure of the depth and what’s below the surface.
🛟 It’s safer to go on the water with a companion – someone who can help if needed.

June is rainbow-coloured! 🌈

🌈 The rainbow flag holds symbolic value for individuals who have experienced psychological or physical violence, inequality, or injustice due to their sexual orientation, gender, or the lack of recognition of these.

🌈 June has become established as the birth month of the international Pride movement. The movement is considered to have begun in New York on June 28, 1969, with the Stonewall uprising, when bar patrons, staff, and bystanders came together for the first time to resist police violence against sexual minorities.

🌈 The Red Cross advocates for equality for all sexual and gender minorities. Its activities are grounded in humanity, and equal human dignity for all is the foundation of its humanitarian work.
