International Week Helsinki IW Helsinki 2016, 2/10/2016 - 9/10/2016! Stay tuned! Each IW is organized and produced by the local students and hosts students from IWCO member student unions.

About International Weeks:

The International Week Coordinating Organization (IWCO, www.iw-co.org) is a worldwide network of business related student unions and student organizations that promotes cultural, economic, social and business exchange between students from all over the world. Over the past two decades, these student unions and organizations of young, aspiring students have been joining

the International Week initiative in order to advance this exchange of culture and business through a one-week long project – The International Week (IW). During the IW there are many opportunities for the exchange of ideas and information amongst the international participants. Country presentations, local company visits and tours of the local city are some of the ways this exchange is encouraged. Although each week is flavored by the local culture, other nations are conveyed through activities such as the International Dinner in which each participant prepares a traditional dish from their country and presents it with a personal story. International Week Helsinki 2016 takes place from October 2nd to October 9th. Around 20 participants from our partner universities will come to Helsinki and enjoy a week with our Nordic lifestyle. Each participant will be hosted by a student from Aalto University School of Business. During IW Helsinki hosts and participants will get to know each other, participate in business oriented tasks (eg company visits) and enjoy the vibrant KY-student life. Hosting in IW

Hosting in International Week Helsinki is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! During the week you’ll take part in a cottage trip, rooftop sauna party, multiple KY events and much more. Hosts can take part in IW Helsinki’s program free of charge! Hosts will also get a highly wanted option to buy tickets to 3-kierros pub crawl, Boston night’s party (after dinner) and sillis without queuing. You don’t have to own a luxury apartment to be able to host an international guest in IW. A bed, a mattress or a couch large enough is adequate. Open-mindedness and bravery to experience a week full of activities with strangers is the attitude that we are searching for. After hosting in IW Helsinki you’ll have plenty of new friends from KY and around the world.

Application period for International Week Helsinki 2018 project team is now open! We are looking for enthusiastic team-members to make IW Helsinki 2018, after a break in 2017, greater than ever before! You'll gain valuable experience on project planning and management from its every stage, and get to see how your efforts create a unique experience for your guests and participants at KY. By getting involved in IW Helsinki, you also get the chance to get involved with an international network of thousands of university students and alumni around the world.

Apply to become the next IW-coordinator before March 12th!
As an IW-coordinator you'll be in charge of organizing International Week Helsinki 2017 with your project team. Together with the team you'll build a program for IW Helsinki 2017 and warmly welcome 20 students from IWCO (International Week Coordinating Organization) partner universities to participate to International Week Helsinki 2017 with local KY members.
IW Helsinki gathers yearly around 50 students to enjoy a week in Helsinki with cultural, business, academical and social events.

You need no prior experience in International Weeks to apply for this position. (Please note that this application is only for KY-students.)
