🌬️SOON COMING:
Atte Kantonen – bugbath: pathmaking

bugbath: pathmaking is a small listening gathering that invites ears to tune into murmuring music, imagined rustlings, and sharply skewed sounds. Curated by Atte Kantonen for the third time, the event takes place at Parvisali, featuring performances by Heu Hsu, Amina Hocine, and Marja Ahti and crys cole as a duo.

The practices of the evening’s performers are connected by a precisely executed sway at the boundaries between the associative and concrete qualities of sound. The bugbath: pathmaking route takes shape as a spiral web, beneath which a soundscape unfolds, where organ winds and geophonies shape the landscape, accompanied by gestures and object orchestrations.

The Board of the New Organisation Has Been Appointed 🧡

Mad House Helsinki and Reality Research Center will merge at the beginning of 2027. The board of the new organisation formed through the merger has now been appointed. The board consists of Emmi Vainio, Chair, and members Matilda Aaltonen, Henriikka Himma, Riikka Lakea, Julia Pajunen, Nicolina Stylianou, and Ulrika Vilke.

The board brings together diverse expertise in performance and live art, marketing and communications, audience engagement, and production. A key role of the board is to help define the strategic direction of the organisation, which will begin its operations at the start of 2027, and contribute to shaping its future.

“I am excited and impressed by the commitment and thought that the members and staff of both organisations have brought to the merger process so far. A merger also means letting go of something. At least I feel that the significant work both organisations have done in the field of performance and live art provides a rich core for our new shared organisation. I’m also curious about the new people the organisation will invite to join in different roles. See you soon!” says Emmi Vainio, Chair of the Board.
