“I’ve been a member of AEGEE for only one year, but this year changed my understanding of Europe. I met so many interesting people and got to know so many different cultures and ways of thinking! I think, many other students should start seeing Europe that way.”
Conny Reichel, AEGEE-Passau
Following the slogan “removing borders and turning united Europe into reality” AEGEE acts in more than 200 cities across Europe with around 13 000 members participating in Summer Universities, parties, Conferences and Working Groups striving for cross-border cooperation and international networks. AEGEE is open for students from all faculties. AEGEE is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration among young people in Europe. Through critical and active confrontation with Europe of today and tomorrow, AEGEE wants to help develop an open and tolerant society. AEGEE, founded in Paris in 1985, puts the idea of a unified Europe into practise. AEGEE does not consider any national organisation level and relies solely on the local groups and a European level that consists of Working Groups, Commissions and the European Board of Directors. In Finland AEGEE-Helsinki is the only local group at the moment.
