💥From Communication to Belonging
Would you like to communicate in a more accessible and inclusive way?
We recently held a super practical workshop for cultural workers, artists, creators, and communicators — and it was full of reflection, tools, and real conversations.
We explored what non-violent communication looks like, how to design inclusive cultural spaces, and how to promote events in plain, accessible language that actually reaches all communities.
🚀 Some good reminders:
Simple and short sentences (no more than 15 words)
Active voice, no slang
Accessible use of emojis and hashtags
Multilingual activities, sign interpreters, visual elements
Diverse stages and programs — artists of different backgrounds, abilities, and disabilities
❤️ And we worked with something beautifully simple — the empathy map.
Before you communicate, ask yourself: what are the needs, values, and background of your audience? How do they think and feel, how do they receive information, what do they do, and how do they communicate? Understanding your audience is where inclusive communication begins.
Remember the ally spirit 💛
