🇪🇺 Erasmus+ Youth Participation project | Voices without Borders 🎙️

Voices without Borders is a two-year Erasmus+ Youth Participation project (July 2026 to June 2028), funded by the European Union and run by SAMHA ry with our Spanish partner Reintegra.

And it starts now: our first workshop is happening this October/Noveber!

It’s a free podcast program in Helsinki for young people aged 18-30 with a migrant or refugee background. Learn to make a podcast from scratch and tell the stories Finnish media isn’t telling yet. You decide what to talk about.

What you get:
🎧 3 full-day workshops: media literacy, podcasting basics and studio production
🎙️ Weekly studio sessions to record your own episodes
📢 Your episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube
🌍 A chance to travel to Lleida, Spain, and make a joint episode with young people from Reintegra

The year ends with a community event in Helsinki, and this year’s participants can come back next year as peer mentors.

🌱 Something new is growing at SAMHA!

We're proud to announce our new Erasmus+ project: Grow with EI — a youth workers' mobility (KA153) taking 32 youth workers from 8 organisations to Marrakech, Morocco 🇲🇦

Youth workers from Finland 🇫🇮 Germany 🇩🇪 Italy 🇮🇹 Spain 🇪🇸 Greece 🇬🇷 Ukraine 🇺🇦 Morocco 🇲🇦 and Tunisia 🇹🇳 will come together for 6 days of intensive training on emotional intelligence in youth work — self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, intercultural communication and constructive conflict management.

Why does it matter? Because emotional intelligence is at the heart of good youth work. It's what makes learning spaces safe, groups inclusive, and young people heard — especially those facing exclusion, stress or fewer opportunities. 💚

This is more than a training. Every participant will leave with tested EI methods ready to implement back home — in mentoring, volunteering and everyday youth work.

We have news: SAMHA has been awarded an Erasmus+ youth participation project.

Voices without Borders is a two-year podcast project (July 2026 – June 2028) for young people aged 18–30 with a migrant or refugee background living in Helsinki. Over six workshops you learn media literacy, podcasting and studio production — recording, editing, publishing — and a Youth Editorial Board of participants decides what the episodes are about.

The result will be more than 30 multilingual episodes made by people who are usually talked about rather than heard. Year one ends with a showcase in Helsinki. In year two we travel to Lleida to record with our Spanish partner Reintegra.

Sixty places over two years, and no experience is needed. If you have never touched a microphone, that is exactly who this is for.

Rasismi ei ole ikinä vitsi – se on väkivaltaa!

🆘 Verkkoväkivalta lasten silmin -selvityksemme mukaan joka kymmenes 9–15-vuotias poika on sitä mieltä, että ihonväriin tai uskontoon liittyvät vitsit ovat ok.

Tällä viikolla 16.–22.3.2026 vietetään rasisminvastaista viikkoa, jonka teemana on turvallisuus.

Hadiya-kumppanuusverkosto, jossa Pelastakaa Lapset on jäsenenä, nostaa keskusteluun verkkorasismin, joka on verkkoväkivallan vakava muoto ja koskettaa useita lapsia, nuoria ja aikuisia.

❗ Rasismia ei ikinä pidä normalisoida, hyväksyä eikä ohittaa missään ympäristöissä. Rasistista käyttäytymistä ei myöskään oikeuta mikään, eikä vetoaminen “vitsailuun” poista teon vaikutuksia.

Tässä kumppanuusverkoston asiantuntijoiden vinkit aikuisille, miten toimia antirasistisesti:

1️⃣ Puutu – älä ohita
Tuomitse rasismi ja kyseenalaista rasististen kommenttien vähättely “vistinä”. Ilmianna rasistiset sisällöt digialustoilla. Älä tykkää rasistisista kommenteista äläkä seuraa sisällöntuottajia, jotka käyttävät rasistista kieltä.

2️⃣ Ole roolimallina lapsille
Pysähdy miettimään omaa käyttäytymistäsi ja käyttämääsi kieltä – myös somessa. Muista, että lapset saavat mallinsa sinusta.

3️⃣ Älä vähättele verkkorasismia
Se, että väkivalta tapahtuu verkossa, ei tee siitä yhtään vähemmän haavoittavaa. Päinvastoin – verkkoväkivalta saattaa tuntua kokijasta vielä pahemmalta, sillä sisällöt voivat levitä suurellekin yleisölle nopeasti.
