🧑🍳 Today we thank catering sector professionals.
We celebrate today for the second time Thank a Catering Sector Professional Day. The day is organised by Trade Union JHL. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to catering sector professionals’ work and thank them for smooth running of everyday operations, their skilled work, and their important contribution to society.
👩🍳 Catering sector professionals hope for concrete improvements in their daily work. Work clothes and work shoes are essential for occupational safety, hygiene and well-being at work. It is not reasonable that low-paid employees have to buy these at their own cost.
For many young people, the school lunch is the only hot meal in the day. However, more and more adolescents don’t eat it at all. That is why it’s important to listen to the young people, develop the services and highlight the significance of school meals for well-being.
👎 A proposed new in-house law raises concerns in food services. The change in legislation would limit municipalities’ ability to organise food services flexibly and cost-efficiently. Especially small municipalities could end up in difficulties.
🧡 Thanking can be a word, a smile, or a shared coffee break. Appreciation can also be expressed through actions in everyday work: listening to what the employees have to say and providing good working conditions.
Have you already thanked the catering sector professional of your neighbourhood cafe or lunch restaurant?
