The 2026 edition of WHEA World Strongman/woman Champinships will be held in the Town of Paradise in Canada 26th-27th, September.

The competition will be held in inside sports venue with qualifications on Saturday and finals on Sunday. The events will be published soon.

Tthe athletes competing must be under WHEA license / anti-doping agreement in minimum of 3 months prior the competition.

National qualifiers in Canada, GB and Finland. Athletes from other countries may apply a spot from info(@)worldheavyeventsassociation.com. Maximum of 3 spots per class is granded per country.

The classes in the competition are:
Women: -65kg, -75kg, 75kg+, Masters 40+ -75kg and over 75kg, Masters 50+ -75kg and over 75kg. Juniors 18-20yrs.
Men: -85kg, -100kg, 100kg+, Masters 40+ -100kg and over 100kg, Masters 50+ -100kg and over 100kg, Juniors 18-20yrs.

Paradise is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.  The nearest international airport is St. John´s (YTT) with approx 20km distance to the city.

New for 2026 - The normal weight classes are remaining as they are, but we are introducing some new classes for the masters - along with the current 40+, there will be also 50+ available in our sports and both age classes are divided to 2 weight classes for both women and men. Swipe to see more info.
The new masters classes will be available for seasons 2026 and 2027 and if they are gathering more athletes to the action, they will continue in the future also.
The new classes will be added also to our log/dl rankings from 1.1.2026.

Imagine the World Championships, which are under wada-level doping monitoring and touring in different countries, so the same athletes don’t need to travel long distance every year and also the other athletes can see the world around.

Along with strongman/woman, last weekend in York, England we held the WHEA Pure Pull™️ Log/Deadlift World Championships with nearly 50 athletes taking part to these lifts.

On the venue we witnessed several attempts and 3 new WHEA World Records as follows:
(Video 1) Rachel Jackson, GB, deadlift 186kg, which not only stands as a new record for U65kg class, but also for U75kg 💪
(Video 2) Michelle Leary, deadlift 200kg for master women WR💪
(Video 3) Doug Bell log lift 137kg for master men WR 💪

York is set to host the World Strongman and Strongwoman Championships for the first time on October 4 and 5.

Please remember - the entry time for World Strongman/woman Championships and Pure Pull™️ Log/DL World Championships is closing on Sunday 6th, Sept 2025!

👉 If you placed on top3 at the national qualifier - you get a spot. If someone from top3 don’t go - the spot is open for the next in the results.
👉 If your country don’t have national qualifier, you may apply a spot from info(@) worldheavyeventsassociation.com via email (please note, you do need to have a WHEA license valid at least 3 months prior the competition (competition 4-5th, Oct 2025).
Also if you for exemple IPF powerlifter and your anti-doping contract has been valid 3 or more months, you may get a spot.
