You dont have to be extraordinary for God to be able to use you.
It's easy to believe that we're not gifted enough, influential enough, or qualified enough for God to use. But God has never looked for extraordinary people. He has always worked through those who are willing to trust Him.
This saturday, we discovered how God worked powerfully through the life of Epaphras, and how He can do the same through yours.
1. SHARES CHRIST
👉Epaphras may seem like an ordinary man, yet Paul credits him with bringing the gospel to Colossae. He didn't share Christ out of obligation, but because he had personally experienced the life-changing grace of Jesus.
When we truly encounter Christ's love and truth, His goodness naturally overflows into our lives, making it impossible to keep the gospel to ourselves.
2. SERVES CHRIST
👉We don't serve Jesus because we have to, we serve because we love Him. As we remember all that Christ has done for us, our gratitude becomes joyful obedience.
Paul describes Epaphras as his "fellow bondservant" (Colossians 1:7), reminding us that serving Christ is a privilege. We live this out by serving others with humility, praying earnestly for them, and pointing them to Jesus.
3. SURRENDERS TO CHRIST
👉When we remember who we are in Christ, we discover the freedom that comes through surrender. Paul and Epaphras even called themselves "fellow prisoners in Christ Jesus" (Philemon 1:23), finding joy in belonging completely to Him.
Being Christ's prisoner doesn't restrict us, instead, it frees us to trust His direction and faithfully follow wherever He leads.
4. LIVING AS ORDINARY PEOPLE IN THE HANDS OF AN EXTRAORDINARY GOD
👉The gospel changes lives through ordinary people who choose to trust and follow Jesus.
As we share Christ, serve others, and
surrender our lives to Him, God works powerfully through our ordinary faithfulness to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
‼️When the world demands that we prove our worth, it's easy to feel disappointed by how ordinary we seem. Instead of doubting whether we're enough for God to use us for His purposes, God reminds us that has never waited for extraordinary people to accomplish His work. All He asks for is hearts of those who are willing.
