Jesus never disappoints those who earnestly seek Him.
When Jesus fed the 5,000 with just five loaves and two fish, He revealed more than His power. He revealed the Father’s abundant love and provision. What seemed like “not enough” became more than enough in His hands.
This miracle points us to the Bread of Life, reminding us that Jesus continues to nourish and sustain us through His presence. God’s blessings are never meant to stop with us. They are meant to overflow into the lives of others.
Isaiah reminds us that God invites everyone who hungers and thirsts to come freely and be satisfied by Him. St. Paul reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. Together, these readings assure us that God is faithful. He provides for our needs, but above all, He gives us Himself. Our deepest hunger is not simply for what God can give, but for God Himself, who alone can truly satisfy.
Reflection:
Do you trust in God’s provision for you and do you share freely with others, especially those who lack? Do you seek Him above all else, knowing that He alone is enough?
