🌿✨ Celebrating Ethiopian New Year 2019 in the Presence of God ✨🌿
Today, our hospital chapel was filled with joy, worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving as we gathered together to celebrate the beginning of the Ethiopian New Year 2019. 🙏🏽🎉
We lifted our voices together in song, worshipping and giving thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout the past year and committing the year ahead into His hands.
📖 A Powerful Message of Hope and Calling
We were blessed by a sermon shared by Pastor Tesfaye Gebre, who preached from Psalm 27:1–14 under the inspiring theme:
“God Has Called Us for the Excelling Glory” ✨
Through the life of David, Pastor Tesfaye reminded us that God chooses and calls people according to His purpose. David was chosen by God to lead Israel as king, yet his greatness was not simply in his position—it was also reflected in his devotion to God, pursuit of holiness, and desire to live a life pleasing to Him.
Psalm 27 beautifully reminds us that God's Word speaks to our past, our present, and our future. It reminds us of what God has already done, what He is doing in our lives today, and the hope we can have for what lies ahead.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?”
— Psalm 27:1
In a world surrounded by uncertainties, challenges, and enemies, we were reminded that God is our shield, our protector, and our keeper. Because He is with us, we do not need to live in fear. Our confidence is not in our own strength, but in the God who watches over us. 🙏🏽
The message also challenged us to make the new year a year of glorifying God and satisfying Him through our entire lives—in our words, our actions, our work, and our service to others.
🏥❤️ A Special Blessing for Our Hospital Workers
One of the most touching moments of the message was the blessing given to all hospital workers.
Every day, our hands are involved in caring for patients, providing treatment, offering comfort, and working toward healing. But we were reminded that our service is more than a profession—it can also be an act of service to God.
🤲 With one hand, we work to heal patients.
🙏 With the other hand, we serve God.
May God continue to strengthen every healthcare worker and every member of our hospital community. May He bless the work of our hands, give us compassion for those we serve, and help us remain faithful to our calling.
As we enter Ethiopian New Year 2019, may we walk forward with faith rather than fear, holiness rather than compromise, service rather than selfishness, and God's glory as the ultimate purpose of our lives.
🌿 Happy Ethiopian New Year 2019!
✨ May this be a year of excelling glory, renewed faith, greater service, and abundant blessings from God.
“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
— Psalm 27:14
🙏🏽 To God be the glory!
