World Su***de Prevention Day

The World Health Organization reports that over 727,000 individuals die by su***de annually, with a significantly larger number attempting it. Su***de affects people across all age groups and, in 2021, was identified as the third leading cause of mortality among individuals aged 15–29 worldwide.

Who is at Risk?
🔹Young adults and adolescents
🔹Individuals with mental health disorders
🔹Those experiencing trauma or loss

How to Prevent Su***de:
✅Talk Openly: Encourage conversations about mental health and listen without judgment.
✅Recognize Signs: Notice changes in behavior, mood, or social activity and respond with care.
✅Seek Help: Encourage those in need to connect with mental health professionals.

Let's create a supportive environment and promote open conversations. Together, we can break the silence and cultivate discussions filled with empathy, hope, and support.

💚 World Hepatitis Day

Hepatitis is a viral infection that causes inflammation of the liver and includes five primary types: A, B, C, D, and E. Each type has different modes of transmission. Hepatitis A and E are typically transmitted through the fecal-oral route, meaning these viruses can be contracted by consuming contaminated food and water. Hepatitis B spreads through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids, including during childbirth. Hepatitis C is primarily transmitted via blood and body fluids. Hepatitis D can only infect individuals who are already infected with Hepatitis B.

Many individuals may not show symptoms, but common signs include:

🩺 Abdominal pain

😴 Fatigue

💛 Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)

🤒 Flu-like symptoms

On this World Hepatitis Day, it is important to acknowledge that chronic infections of Hepatitis B and C can result in liver damage and increase the risk of cancer. Despite being preventable and treatable, these conditions often go unnoticed. Regular testing is essential for early detection, as it can significantly improve health outcomes.

Let’s work together to raise awareness and ensure that everyone has access to the necessary resources for prevention and treatment.

Early detection and treatment can save lives!
