October 13/2026.
Jigjiga City, SORVA Office, Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

Somali Region Veterinary Association (SORVA) and Yied and DMA Consortium had a great and insightful focus group discussion as part of the East Ethiopia Needs Assessment research, bringing together women delegates from various stakeholders, particularly SORVA, SYGO, PDB, and JJU, to share their experiences and perspectives on animal welfare, with a special focus on donkey welfare within their communities. The participants highlighted valuable experiences, challenges, and community practices that will contribute to a better understanding of donkey welfare issues and inform the assessment findings.

The Researchers Expressed their Special appreciation to SORVA for its significant role in making this event possible by providing the venue, facilitating the process, and actively engaging in the discussion.

We thank All the participants for their valuable contributions and commitment to improving animal welfare in eastern Ethiopia.
