Club Anbesa began as street boys borrowing a soccer ball in their free time for recreation. A real soccer ball is hard to come by, especially for the boys who own nothing. After months of relationships growing, learning street culture, and understanding what the boys really need and hope for,
a team formed. It was intended from the beginning not to "give" anything to the boys,
as a culture of ent
itlement and begging already exists, so through good character, hard work, trust, and participation, the
boys who form Club Anbesa have been entrusted with opportunities to grow up into society- but not like society-
they are encouraged to be better, bolder, more righteous through the teaching of Jesus. The boys of Club anbesa rely on donations, but not only on donations, but on their own ability, thru responsible action, and hard work
they receive housing, business loans, and more.
