On July 9 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization participated in workshop entitled, "National Coordination and Advocacy on the Implementation of Ethiopia's Fourth Universal Periodic Review". This workshop is strategic forum aimed at operationalizing the UN Human Rights Council's recommendations for Ethiopia. It's hosted by organizations like the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and the Consortium of Ethiopian Human Rights Organizations (CEHRO). This workshop included representative from government, civil society, and UN agencies to develop actionable strategies and monitoring mechanisms for human rights compliance.

On 23 June 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization (IPDO), along with other CSOs working in the Gambella region, met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights team led by Yoseph Nobadom. The meeting focused on strengthening peacebuilding in Gambella, mapping stakeholders' involvement, and promoting the role of CSOs in maintaining peace at the grassroots level. The meeting was concluded with strong commitment from CSOs in peacebuilding and durable support from UNHCHR.

On June, 21, 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization has honored to participate in the announcing the result of 7th Ethiopian general election. The event engaged participants from government institutions, political parties, CSOs, AU, IGAD, international NGOs, development partners, etc. So, the IPDO acknowledged the invitation from National Election Board of Ethiopia.

On 28 May, 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization successfully conducted door to door awareness on electoral process and obligation of concerned citizens. It was carried out in Gambella Town, Itang Special Woreda, and Lare Woreda.

On May 25, 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization organized the "Consultative Meeting on Civic and Voter Education" in Gambella Town. The participants during event included peace committee, religion leaders, women representatives, community leaders, and government officials. The purpose of the meeting was to spread awareness on peaceful election, election date, casting voting cards, etc.

On May 20, 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization (IPDO) successfully conducted the second round of public open debate with students from Newland High School and Gambella University students. The event was attended by representatives from Gambella regional National Election Board of Ethiopia Branch Office, staff of the IPDO, and school students. The aim of the debate was to raise the awareness of participants on citizens' obligations in casting voting cards, being well-informed, and participating peacefully throughout the election period.

The Second Inclusive Community Dialogue by the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization was successfully carried out on 14th May 2026 in Lare Woreda with the presence of sixty participants from Lare Woreda and Itang Special Woreda. The participants consisted of men and women as well as youth and persons living with disabilities from male and female groups, respectively.

The program received financial support from the United Nations Development Programme to build up civic and voter education activities in the Gambella Region in preparation for the 7th General Election in Ethiopia.

This inclusive dialogue emphasized the need to be inclusive, informed, and peaceful in engaging in the upcoming electoral process. The forum provided a good opportunity for participants to share views on democratic inclusion, equal participation, and the need for peaceful elections.

On 17 April, 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization successfully conducted "First Round Inclusive Dialogue" as a part of civic and voters education in Gambella town. The session involved women, youth, religion leaders, and people with disabilities.

The focus areas during the event were peaceful electoral process, inclusivity, informed participation of citizens in election, etc. This session were carried out using practical group discussion, presentation, and questions and answers.

Finally, the participants expressed their commitments to share the information to their families, neighbors, and the entire community.

On 3 April 2026, the Integrated Pastoral Development Organization conducted the open public debate forum with Dalkoch high school students and Gambella University students in Gambella Town. This event was organized to raise the awareness of students in order to get their cards and inform their relatives and neighbors, as the registration deadline is approaching.
