Protecting the birthplace of Wild Coffee Arabica in Ethiopia for people and nature However, they have declined dramatically in size.

Ethiopia is considered to be one of the world's most species-rich countries and a globally significant biodiversity hotspot. The last remaining highland forests have been identified as particularly valuable key ecosystems. The Kafa Biosphere Reserve in the country's southwest is home to one of these last natural forest regions in the country and is remarkable for its species diversity and extensiv

e wetlands and floodplain areas. Furthermore the Kafa region is an area of rich traditions and the birthplace of wild coffea arabica! Together with the Ethiopian government, the NABU project "Biodiversity under climate change: Community-based Conservation, Management and Development Concepts for the wild Coffee Forests“ aims at conserving and restoring afromontane cloud forests and wetlands in order to preserve their ecosystem resilience and unique biodiversity. It also intends to avoid CO2 emissions and secure ecosystem services for the population. This project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag.

ዘላቂ የተፈጥሮ ሃብት ጥበቃ አስተዳደርን በጥምር እርሻ ዘዴ ለማጠናከርና የአባላት ኑሮ ማሻሻያ ድጋፍ ለማድረግ በ Verdens Skove (FOW) ድጋፍ በናቡ ኢትዮጵያ በገዋታ፣ በጊምቦና በጨታ ወረዳ በ4 ቀበሌያት የአሳታፊ ደን አስተዳደር ማህበራት ጋር በመተባበር በጥምር እርሻ ልማት እና በንብ ማነብ ለመሳተፍ ፍላጎት ላሳዩ በተጋ 20 እና በባሺ 30 አርሶ አደሮች ለእያንዳንዱ አ/አደር 5 ዘመናዊ ቀፎ ከነ ሙሉ የማነቢያ ቁሳቁስ በማሰራጨትና ስልጠና በመስጠት አርሶ አደሮቹም በስልጠናዉ ባገኙት እዉቀት ጋጣ በመስራት የንብ መንጋ ወደ ቀፎ እያስገቡ ይገኛሉ፡፡
To strengthen sustainable natural resource management through agroforestry and improve local livelihoods, NABU Ethiopia, has collaborated with Participatory Forest Management Associations across in Gewata, Gimbo, and Cheta Woredas in four kebeles by support of Verdens Skove (FOW),.
As part of this initiative, 50 interested farmers from Gimbo Tega Kebele (20 farmers) and Keyi and Bashi Kebeles in Cheta Woreda (30 farmers) received modern beehives and complete beekeeping equipment. Each farmer was provided with five modern hives to support sustainable income generation, promote environmentally friendly livelihoods, and enhance community engagement in forest conservation.

በገዋታ ወረዳ ወዲዮ ቀበሌ በጎማ መሊጋዋ አሳታፊ ደን አስተዳደር የወዲዮ የቡና አምራችና ግብይት ህብ/ሥራ ማህበርን ለማጠናከር በ“Promoting Sustainable Forest Management through Improved Agroforestry Practices for the Wellbeing of Local Communities in Kafa Biosphere Reserve, Ethiopia” (SPA) ፕሮጀክት
ዘላቂ የተፈጥሮ ሃብት ጥበቃ አስተዳደርን ለማጠናከርና የአባላት ኑሮ ማሻሻያ ድጋፍ ለማድረግ ከሚሰራዉ ሥራ መካከል በንብ ማነብ ለመሳተፍ ፍላጎት ላሳዩ 20 አርሶ አደሮች 100 ዘመናዊ ቀፎ ከነ ሙሉ ትጥቅ በማቅረብና የተግባር ስልጠና በናቡ ኢትዮጵያና በቀበሌዉ የእርባታ ባለሙያዎች በመስጠት አ/አደሩ ዘመናዊ ቀፎዎችን ጋጣ ላይ የማስቀመጥና ንብ የማዛወር ሥራ እየተከናወነ ይገኛል፡፡

የአውሮፓ ህብረት የብዝሀ ህይወት መጥፋትን ለመከላከልና የግሪንሀውስ ጋዝ (GHG) ልቀትን ለመቀነስ ከደን ጭፍጨፋ የፀዱ ምርቶችን መጠቀምን የሚያስገድድ (EUDR) ህግ በማዉጣቱ ምክንያት ቡና አምራች አርሶ አደሩ ህጉን አክብሮ በማምረት ከገበያዉ ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ የግድ ይላል፡፡
ይህ ደንብ በህጉ ካካተታቸዉ የግብርና ምርቶች መካከል ቡና አንዱ ሲሆን ለአዉሮፓ ገበያ የሚቀርበዉ የቡና ምርት ደንና ተያያዥ ማንኛዉም ብዝኃ ህይወት በማጥፋት ወይም ጉዳት በማድረስ የተመረተ አለመሆኑን የሚያረጋግጥ ሰርቲፊኬት ያለዉ መሆን እንዳለበት ያስገድዳል፡፡
ይህን ለማገዝ ናቡ ኢትዮጵያ በ “Sustainable Garden Coffee Production and EUDR Compliance in Kaffa Zone, Southwest Ethiopia” ፕሮጀክት በ6 የአሳታፊ ደን አስተዳደር የቡና አምራችና ግብይት ህብረት ሥራ ማህበር አባላት የሆኑ አርሶ አደሮች የቡና ማሳ መረጃ ለማሰባሰብ በቅድሚያ በሁለተኛ ደረጃ የመሬት ልኬት ላይ የነበረዉን ልምድ በማስጠናት የ2680 እና ከዚያ በላይ አርሶ አደር ማሳ ለመለካት እንዲቻል ከቦንጋ ዩንቨርሲቲ ጋር በተገባዉ የሁለትዮሽ ስምምነት መሰረት የተደረገዉን ጥናት የተለያዩ ባለድርሻ አካላት በተገኙበት የመጀመሪያ ግምገማ አካሂዷል፡፡

በመድረኩ ከክልል እስከ ወረዳ ያሉ የሚመለከታቸዉ የባለድርሻ አካላት የተገኙ ሲሆን ጥናቱን ሙሉእ የሚያደርጉ ኃሳብ አስተያዬት ተገኝቶበታል፡፡
የጥናቱ አባላትም በመድረኩ የተገኘዉን አስተያየቶችና ልምዶችን በጥናት ዶክመንቱ በማካተት በአጭር ጊዜ ለናቡ ኢትዮጵያ እንደሚያስረክቡ፣ እንዲሁም የክልሉ ግብርና ቢሮ የመሬት አስተዳደር ዘርፍ ያለቸዉን የግብአትና የሰዉ ኃይል በመጠቀም እንደሚያግዙ መግባባት ላይ ተደርሷል፡፡

ናቡ ኢትዮጵያ በጠሎ ወረዳ በEUDR ፕሮጀክት ከሚያከናውናቸው የፕሮጀክት ሥራዎች አንዱ በኦዳ ቀበሌ ያሉ ሴት አርሶ አደሮች በእንሰትና አትክልት ልማትና ግብይት ህብረት ሥራ ማህበር ተደራጅተው ምርታቸውን በማህበራቸው አማካይነት ለገበያ እንዲያቀርቡ በአቅም ግንባታ፣ በቴክኖሎጂ አቅርቦት፣ በጽ/ቤትና የመጋዘን ግንባታ መደገፍ ነው።
የአደረጃጀት ሥራው ከወረዳ ግብ/ህብ/ ሥራ፣ከሴቶችና ህፃናት፣ከከተማው ማዘጋጃ ጽ/ቤት ጋር በመተባበር የአደረጃጀትና የመሬት አቅርቦት ሥራ የተሰራ ሲሆን 116 አባላትን የያዘ የሾሻ ሞጎ እንሰትና አትክልት ልማትና ግብይት ሁለገብ የህ/ ሥራ ማህበር ተደራጅቷል ።
ማህበሩን በአግባቡ ለመምራት እንዲቻል ናቡ ኢትዮጵያ ከዞን ግብ/ህ/ ሥራ ባለሙያዎች ጋር በመሆን ለማህበሩ አመራሮች በህ/ሥራ አደረጃጀት እና የውስጥ አሰራር እንድሁም የሂሳብ አያያዝና የሰነድ አደረጃጀት ላይ የሚያተኩር ስልጠና በኦዳ ከተማ እየተሰጠ ስሆን በአትክልት ልማት ለሚሳተፉ 40 ሴቶች በንድፈ ሃሳብና በተግባር የተዘጋጀ ስልጠናም በነገው ቀን የሚሰጥ ይሆናል።

ናቡ ኢትዮጵያ Water and Land resource Center ጋር በዉሃ አዘል መሬት ጥበቃና መልሶ ማገገም ሥራ በካፋ ዞን ጊምቦና ገዋታ ወረዳ በ3 ዉሃ አዘል መሬት እንዲሁም በቤንች ሸኮ ዞን በሸይ ቤንች ወረዳ 1 ዉሃ አዘል መሬት እንዲሁም SPA / Forests of the World ጋር ዘላቂ የተፈጥሮ ሀብት ጠበቃ በጥምር እርሻ ዘዴ ለማህብረሰብ ኑሮ ማሻሻል በሚል በጊምቦ፣ በገዋታና በጨታ ወረዳ ተግባራዊ በማድረግ ላይ ይገኛል፡፡
ይህ ፕሮጀክት የተፈጥሮ ሃብት ጥበቃ ሥራ ጎን ለጎን በሁሉም ፕሮጀክቶች የማህብረሰብ ኑሮ ማሻሻያ ሥራዎችን ትኩረት የሚያደርግ ሲሆን በየፕሮጀክቶቹ ለ120 በዉሃ አዘል መሬቱ ዙሪያና አካባበቢዉ ለሚኖሩ ማህብረሰብ እና በ SPAፕሮጀክት ተጠቃሚ ለሚሆኑ 70 አርሶ አደሮች 950 ዘመናዊ ቀፎ ለማሰራጨት እየተሰራ ሲሆን ለሁሉም አናቢ የሚሰራጭ የማነቢያ ቁሳቁስ ግዥ በማከናወን ወደ ትግበራ ለመግባት የሚያስችል ስልጠና በመሰጠት ላይ ይገኛል፡፡
