Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by various infectious viruses and noninfectious agents, leading to significant health issues, including liver cirrhosis and cancer. The five main types of hepatitis viruses are A, B, C, D, and E, each differing in transmission methods, severity, and prevention strategies. Hepatitis A and E are typically spread through contaminated food and water, while hepatitis B, C, and D are transmitted through contact with infected bodily fluids. Vaccines are available for hepatitis A and B, but there is no vaccine for hepatitis C, although effective antiviral treatments can cure most cases of hepatitis C infection. Chronic hepatitis B and C infections pose serious health risks, with millions affected globally, highlighting the need for improved access to testing and treatment [[1]](https://www.who.int/health-topics/hepatitis)[[2]](https://medlineplus.gov/hepatitis.html)[[3]](https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/global/index.html).

HIV remains a significant global public health issue, with approximately 38 million people living with the virus worldwide as of 2023. Despite advances in treatment and prevention, including antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), new infections continue to occur, particularly in regions with high prevalence rates such as sub-Saharan Africa. Factors contributing to the ongoing epidemic include social stigma, limited access to healthcare, and disparities in education and awareness about HIV transmission and prevention. Key populations, including men who have s*x with men, s*x workers, and individuals who inject drugs, are disproportionately affected.

The global response to HIV has also faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted health services and led to a decline in testing and treatment adherence. While initiatives to integrate HIV services with broader health programs have shown promise, there remains a critical need for sustained funding, research, and community engagement to address barriers to care. Efforts to combat misinformation and stigma are equally important, as they can significantly impact individuals' willingness to seek testing and treatment, ultimately affecting public health outcomes in the fight against HIV.
