On the first anniversary of his election to the See of Peter, Pope Leo XIV paid a pastoral visit to Pompeii today, on the Feast of the Supplication to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary.
On this special occasion, the Grand Master Fra’ John T. Dunlap has sent a letter of good wishes to the Pontiff, in which he emphasised how the Pope has “wisely combined respect for Tradition with openness to the challenges of the present day, embodying that balance between continuity and renewal of which the Church is in such deep need.”
For the Order of Malta, the Pope’s visit is also an opportunity to recall the service provided at the soup kitchen "Pilgrim House" in Pompeii by the Grand Priory of Naples and Sicily: for over ten years, some 55 volunteers have been serving more than 42,000 meals a year to those in need. A work of mercy that concretely responds to the Holy Father’s call not to leave anyone on the margins.

This was stated yesterday in New York by the Grand Chancellor of the , Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, speaking at the meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two State Solution.
The meeting took place during the opening week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Farewell Visit of H.E. Ambassador Ronald Macalief to the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Ethiopia

The Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Ethiopia was honored to host H.E. Ambassador Ronald Macalief of the Republic of Malta for a farewell visit, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic service in Addis Ababa.

The Republic of Malta and the Sovereign Order of Malta share a long history of friendship and cooperation. During Ambassador Ronald’s tenure, these ties were further strengthened through mutual respect and collaboration in Addis Ababa.

Mr. Merhatsidik Ayele, Chargé d’Affaires of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Ethiopia, together with the embassy staff, expressed sincere gratitude for Ambassador Ronald’s collegiality and support. We warmly wish him every success in his new posting in Accra, Ghana, and look forward to the continued friendship between the Republic of Malta and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
