Hello my name is Hilina and I am deaf. I was adopted from Ethiopia in 2011, born 2004. I was 7 years old when adopted so I still remember my time in the orphanage. I also have some good memories of life before the orphanage. I am now really curious if I was surrendered to the orphanage or if I have a family that loves me and is searching for me. I remember wandering one day and getting picked up and taken to the orphanage. Due to being deaf, I don't know if the communication barrier caused someone to think that I was homeless and needed help or if I was abducted and taken for profit. These memories are very vague so I cannot say for sure. But I would like to start the journey of searching for my family and reconnecting with friends that I made in the orphanage. My last name before I was adopted was Kibebetsehay - I have found an orphanage under this same name. However when searching through different orphanages in Addis Ababa, which my birth certificate states that I am from... I can remember the exact orphanage I came from. That one is under the name of Sele Enat Charitable Organization. Did anyone else on here come from that place? And can anyone help give me advice on who to contact to begin this journey of family my bio family?
