Better Data. Stronger Advocacy. Real Change.
How can we create meaningful change for women and girls if we do not have the right data to understand their needs and challenges?
This is the question driving New Bright’s participation in a three-day training on Gender Statistics, Digital Data Collection, and Evidence-Based Advocacy, organized by UN Women and CoSAP, which begins today.
At New Bright, we recognize that effective programs and lasting change require reliable data, clear evidence, and a strong understanding of the communities we serve.
Through this training, we aim to strengthen our capacity to collect and use gender data, identify gaps and inequalities, and turn evidence into advocacy that informs decisions and drives action.
Our goal is clear: to strengthen our programs, make our advocacy more effective, and contribute to a society where women and girls have equal opportunities to thrive.
As we begin this learning journey, we remain committed to turning knowledge into action and evidence into meaningful change.

Technology is changing the way we learn—and Ethiopia is becoming part of that transformation. 🇪🇹💻
As Ethiopia moves toward a more digitally connected and technology-driven society, helping young people develop digital skills is increasingly important. Access to computers, digital resources, AI, and coding gives students opportunities to explore and participate in this changing world.
For NBCDC, education has always been at the heart of its work—from supporting children and youth through educational programs, tutorials, computer and spoken English training, art education, and other learning initiatives.
Today, this commitment continues through the Technology Assisted Learning Lab (TALL), where students explore technology as a tool for learning, creativity, problem-solving, and discovery.
Because preparing young people for the future is not only about giving them access to technology—it is about helping them understand what they can do with it.

To my dear friends, family, partners, donors, members, volunteers, colleagues, and everyone whose path has crossed with mine through our work and life, thank you🙏.
As I look back on the year, I am deeply grateful for every form of connection: the ideas we exchanged, the support you offered, the small conversations, the strategic discussions, the healthy disagreements, and even the moments when we challenged each other’s ideas.
Each of these interactions has contributed to making New Bright stronger, more thoughtful, and more impactful. And personally, they have challenged me to learn, grow, reflect, and become a better version of myself.
I enter 2019 E.C. with hope, gratitude, and renewed energy. I am confident that the connections we have built will continue, deepen, and create new opportunities for collaboration and meaningful impact.

🌱💻 Breaking Barriers, Building the Future: Advancing Girls’ Participation in Technology

Technology is shaping our future, and girls must have equal opportunities to learn, create, and lead in the digital world.

We recently organized an advocacy workshop on Girls and Technology, bringing together primary school students, teachers, school leaders, civil society organizations, education experts, and technology companies to discuss the barriers limiting girls’ participation in technology and STEM fields.

Through the presentation on “Closing the Digital Gender Divide” and an engaging panel discussion featuring students, young software engineering graduates, Ministry of Education representatives, and EdTech experts, participants explored challenges, practical solutions, and opportunities for collaboration.

The workshop marked an important first step in building dialogue and collective action toward ensuring girls are not only users of technology but also creators and innovators.

🙏 Our sincere appreciation goes to all participants, panelists, presenters, and partners for their meaningful contributions and commitment to advancing girls’ opportunities in technology.

It takes a village to build a brighter future. 💙✨
A dream has become reality at Sefereselam Primary School with the launch of our Digital Learning Lab and Student Safe Space.
This achievement is more than new facilities, it's a powerful example of what happens when organizations, communities, and individuals unite behind a shared vision for children.
Our heartfelt thanks to Development Expertise Center (DEC), Camara Education, and our 38 generous community donors. Whether the contribution was large or as little as 50 Birr, every gift carried the same message: "We believe in you."
Together, we have created a place where students can build digital skills, where girls can learn with confidence and dignity, and where opportunities are no longer limited by circumstance.
The lab is open. The safe space is ready. The future is brighter than ever. 🚀🌱
