YMCA Ethiopia proudly celebrates Africa Youth Month 2025 under the theme ‘From Aspiration to Action: Youth as Agents of Reparative Justice and Sustainable Development.’
During our gathering, young people openly discussed and reflected on ‘The Africa We Want’ and aligned our dreams with the AU Agenda 2063, envisioning a continent where justice, equality, and sustainable development thrive. Today’s youth are not just dreaming of change, they are driving it.

High-Level Advocacy for Youth Health & Rights

On November 4 2025, YMCA Ethiopia, under the Break Free (BF) Project, convened a High-Level Advocacy Meeting on Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH).

This important dialogue brought together youth representatives, the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Finance (M*F), and the Health Policy Review (HPR) to advocate for tangible commitments and actionable recommendations addressing critical gaps in AYSRH across Ethiopia.

At YMCA Ethiopia, we believe that young people deserve a voice in shaping the policies that affect their health, dignity, and future.

Shining and making a difference!

Driven by her passion for advocacy, World YMCA Change Agent Dibora Tameru spent October on the move, attending five programmes in Ethiopia on skills, health, peace and digital advocacy.

Highlights include Africa Skills Week (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), the National Adolescent and Youth Health Forum, the YMCA Peacemakers YPS Exchange, YMCA Ethiopia’s 75th anniversary and a tech forum on online safety. 🩺📱

YMCA Ethiopia will celebrate its 75th Anniversary. Since 1949, we have been committed to youth empowerment, service, and community development, and this year marks a Diamond Jubilee milestone in our journey.

The celebration will begin with the Grand Opening National Celebration on October 7, 2025, in Addis Ababa, followed by a month-long series of inspiring activities across Ethiopia.

This is more than a celebration, it’s a moment to honor the past, engage the present, and envision the future together.
