A new partnership for youth , students, teachers, and communities opportunity:

Imagine1day and Fana Youth Saving and Credit Cooperative have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand opportunities for young people, teachers, students and communities.

Through this partnership, the two organizations will work together to strengthen financial literacy, promote a culture of saving, and support youth entrepreneurship. The collaboration will also focus on improving access to affordable financial services while creating stronger pathways to employment and self-employment.

By connecting education with economic opportunity, this initiative aims to help young people transition from learning to earning and build more resilient futures.

💦 Clean water restored in Awegera Village, Afar Region 💦

Education Cannot Wait(ECW-FER), in partnership with Imagine1day, has inaugurated a solar-powered water system in Chifera District’s Yailu Kebele, rehabilitation of a scheme that had been non-functional for over five years.

Hundreds of households, 405 primary school students, and a local health center now have access to safe water. Families are starting small-scale activities, and women no longer walk 4 km daily to fetch water.

Supported by -FER and implemented by Imagine1day, this project is already transforming lives.

Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia: building stronger schools, capable teachers, and future-ready students.

Imagine1day, Education Development Trust, and Geneva Global Ethiopia announce a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education Ethiopia, and the Mastercard Foundation to deliver the Leaders in Teaching Ethiopia Program, a flagship national program aiming at building stronger schools, capable teachers, and future-ready students. The Program specifically aims to improve the transition of secondary school students into tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge, and attitudes.

Through system-wide and individual-level support, the Program recruits & builds the skills of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and in-service teachers, school leaders, and education officers. In Ethiopia’s 12 regions and two city administrations, Program target secondary school students take part in tutorials, career guidance, and training in 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy. The Program also creates opportunities for scholarships, enabling students to pursue higher education, technical and vocational colleges, and enter the workforce with confidence and competence.

Today, Imagine1day hosted a meaningful sensitization session for the senior management team, in the presence of past Board Chair Mr. Ken Mackenzie and Mrs. Joy Mackenzie.

The session created space for honest reflection on the organization’s growth journey, celebrating the impact achieved so far while critically examining the challenges that lie ahead. It was also an opportunity to strengthen alignment, renew shared purpose, and set a clear direction toward achieving even greater outcomes for the communities we serve.
