Organization and Project Background
Eshet Children and Youth Development Organization (ECYDO) is a legally registered Ethiopian local Civil Society Organization working across gender equality, GBV prevention, SRHR, adolescent girls' empowerment, positive masculinities, youth leadership, and community resilience in Oromia, Afar, Sidama, and Addis Ababa. ECYDO serves as the Lead Agency of the Addooyyee Cluster, a strategic partnership of Ethiopian civil society organizations, Better Life for All (BLA), De La Salle Community Development Organization (DCDO), and SERK SRH & Development Youth Association, formed to improve the lives of adolescent girls and young women in Adama City Administration.
SEED+ (Skills, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship for Development Plus) is a 12-month project, funded by the Children's Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), building on six years of the Addooyyee Cluster's BEST Girls Project (2019β2025). SEED+ directly reaches 2,000 adolescent girls and young women aged 10β24 in Adama City's underserved communities through four integrated pillars: vocational skills training, menstrual health education, economic empowerment and financial inclusion, and psychosocial support/GBV response, alongside the Adoye Digital Platform and technology-enabled E-Learning Safe Space Hubs. To lead this work, ECYDO seeks to hire a qualified Project Manager.
Position Summary
The SEED+ Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and quality implementation of the SEED+ Project, and for facilitating communication and information exchange between ECYDO, the Addooyyee Cluster member organizations (Better Life for All, DCDO, and SERK), local government and service partners, and the donor (CRVPF). The Project Manager reports to ECYDO's Executive Director and Board of Directors and works closely with the Addooyyee Cluster Coordinator, Safe Space facilitators, and the SEED+ field teams of Cluster member organizations in all activities.
The Project Manager's Main Responsibilities
β’ Co-design and lead the day-to-day coordination and implementation of SEED+ activities across its four pillars and the Adoye Digital Platform.
β’ Develop detailed implementation plans, work plans, and budgets, and monitor the day-to-day project progress against them.
β’ Organize and lead project meetings, orientations, and coordination workshops with Cluster member organizations, beneficiaries, government stakeholders, and partners.
β’ Support Addooyyee Cluster member organizations (Better Life for All, DCDO, and SERK) in implementing activities, providing technical assistance and capacity building.
β’ Develop and manage MEAL plans and tools, conduct baseline/endline assessments, and prepare timely, data-driven project reports for the Board, Cluster members, and CRVPF.
β’ Maintain the project's internal and external communications, ensuring continuing partnership across the Addooyyee Cluster and with local government, schools, and health-sector actors.
β’ Ensure safeguarding standards are upheld throughout implementation, in line with Cluster members' Child Protection and PSEAH policies.
β’ Represent SEED+ and the Addooyyee Cluster in national and regional forums, technical working groups, and stakeholder meetings.
β’ Carry out any additional activities that ECYDO may assign as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Gender Studies, Public Health, Business Administration, Management, or other related fields.
Knowledge and Experience
β’ 5+ years of experience managing donor-funded projects focused on adolescent girls' empowerment, GBV prevention, SRHR, or youth economic inclusion.
β’ Substantive knowledge and practical experience in gender, GBV, and/or sexual and reproductive health programming.
β’ Experience coordinating multi-partner or cluster/consortium projects, including sub-granting or technical support to member organizations.
β’ Working knowledge of MEAL systems and donor reporting requirements; experience with digital learning platforms is an advantage.
β’ Strong communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills in English; Afaan Oromo is highly desirable.
β’ Field experience in Oromia Region and speaking Afar Oromo are required.
