Speaker Announcement | EACE 27th Convention 2026
The Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers (EACE) is honoured to announce Sileshi Kassa Zenebe, Deputy CEO for the Railway Infrastructure Development Division at the Ethiopian Railways Corporation, as a featured speaker at the 27th EACE Annual Convention & International Infrastructure Conference 2026.
With more than two decades of experience in railway development, infrastructure planning, and strategic leadership, Sileshi Kassa Zenebe has played a significant role in advancing Ethiopia's transportation infrastructure through major railway initiatives and national development programs.
Holding both BSc and MSc qualifications in Civil and Railway Civil Engineering, he has served as a university instructor, project manager, technical advisor, and infrastructure executive, bringing a unique perspective that combines technical expertise, strategic vision, and practical implementation experience.
At the EACE 27th Convention, he will share valuable insights on the future of infrastructure development, transportation connectivity, and the role of strategic investment in shaping Africa's growth agenda.

Official Endorsement: Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure Backs EACE 27th Annual Convention
We are honored to announce that the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure/Ethiopia of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has officially endorsed the 27th EACE Annual Convention — International Infrastructure Conference 2026.
In a letter signed by H.E. Yetimgeta Asrat Maru (PhD), State Minister, the Ministry recognized the conference as an important platform for bringing together government institutions, engineers, professional associations, academia, private sector actors, and development partners — to exchange knowledge and promote resilient, sustainable, smart, and innovative infrastructure development.
The Ministry further noted it will facilitate the participation of relevant government institutions and technical experts through presentations, panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
This endorsement is a strong affirmation of the role EACE plays in shaping Ethiopia's engineering future, and we are grateful for the Ministry's continued support and partnership.

Speaker Announcement: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Geremew Sahilu at 27th EACE Annual Convention
We are delighted to announce that Prof. Dr.-Ing. Geremew Sahilu will be speaking at the 27th EACE Annual Convention:International Infrastructure Conference 2026, on Day 2, Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
Prof. Geremew brings over 35 years of professional, academic, and research experience in water supply and sanitary engineering — the broader WASH sector. He spent nearly 20 years with AAWSA, BaTCoDA, UNHCR, and ESRDF, and has served at Addis Ababa University (AAU) for 18 years, teaching water supply, hydraulics, urban drainage, and hydropower. He has supervised 11 PhD and over 60 MSc students and published more than 35 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
His leadership record includes serving as Graduate Program Director of AAiT (2013–2015), Director of the Ethiopian Institute of Water Resources EiWR (2015–2018), and WASH Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Water and Energy, where he led major national WASH policy and guideline development initiatives. Notably, Prof. Geremew also served as President of EACE (2013–2018) making his return to our convention as a speaker a true homecoming.
He currently serves as Professor of Water Supply Engineering at CTBE – AAU and Water Supply Team Leader of AAWSA's TWaSCD project, with research interests spanning sustainable and resilient water infrastructure, water supply systems, environmental engineering, and green infrastructure for urban drainage.
