As a result, Egypt Mobilized broad based support for ELF after which members of the Arab League, which foresaw the strategic importance of controlling the Red Sea and Ethiopia discretely, and helping their fellow Muslim allies challenge Ethiopia form with-in, pledged their support to ELF in 1962. Furthermore, Sudan allowed ELF to transfer weapons and organize military operations. Nonetheless, the US, signing a secret packet with Ethiopia, affirmed its opposition to any insurgency against Ethiopia commanded from Egypt [ but only] for some time while, denying access to fiance and marshal-aid(which were given to non-ally like Germany) discretely.
