ከኢትዮጵያ ካሽ ኮንሰርቲየም (ECC) አጋሮቻችን ጋር በጋራ ስናከናውነው የነበረውን የECHO Cash ሁለገብ የጥሬ ገንዘብ ድጋፍ ፕሮጀክት በተሳካ ሁኔታ አጠናቀናል። 🤝
ፕሮጀክቱ በኦሮሚያ ክልል በሚገኙ ሶስት ዞኖች፤ በምስራቅ ወለጋ፣ ምስራቅ ቦረና እና ጉጂ ለሚገኙ ማህበረሰቦች የጥሬ ገንዘብ ድጋፍ አድርጓል። በሶስት ዙር የጥሬ ገንዘብ ድጋፍ አማካኝነት፦
🏠 ለ89,991 አባወራዎች እና እማወራዎች መድረስ ተችሏል
👥 53,055 ሰዎችን ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ ተችሏል
የጥሬ ገንዘብ ድጋፍ ለምን አስፈለገ? 🤔💰
ቤተሰቦች ቅድሚያ የሚሰጧቸውን ነገሮች በራሳቸው ለመለየት የተሻለ እውቀት አላቸው። የጥሬ ገንዘብ ድጋፍ ሰዎች እንደ ፍላጎታቸው እና ሁኔታቸው ድጋፉን እንዴት እንደሚጠቀሙበት እራሳቸው እንዲወስኑ ያስችላቸዋል።
ተሳታፊዎች የተደረገላቸውን የገንዘብ ድጋፍ አንገብጋቢ ለሆኑ ፍላጎቶቻቸው ተጠቅመውበታል፤ ይህም፦

📚 የትምህርት ወጪዎችን ለመሸፈን
🏥 የህክምና አገልግሎት ለማግኘት

We mark the successful completion of the ECHO Cash Multipurpose Cash Assistance Project, implemented together with our Ethiopian Cash Consortium (ECC) partners. 🤝
The project supported communities across three zones in the Oromia region: East Wollega, East Borana, and Guji. Through three rounds of cash assistance, we reached:
🏠 89,991 households
👥 53,055 individuals
Why cash assistance? 🤔💰
Families are best placed to identify their own priorities. Cash assistance allows people to decide how to use the support according to their urgent needs and circumstances.
Families utilized the assistance to cover their most pressing needs, including:
🌾 Purchasing food
📚 Covering education costs
🏥 Accessing healthcare
👕 Buying clothes
🧼 Purchasing hygiene materials 🕊✨

👥🌟 በEuropean Union in Ethiopia በሚደገፈው ፕሮጀክት ስር የሀገር በቀል አቅምን ለማጠናከር የምናደርገውን ቀጣይነት ያለው ጥረት መሰረት በማድረግ፣ በቦረና እና በምዕራብ ጉጂ ዞኖች የሚገኙ ወጣቶችን እና ሴቶችን ወሳኝ በሆኑ ገበያ ተኮር በሆኑ ክህሎቶች እያበቃን እንገኛለን። 📈👩‍🌾👨‍🌾
👥 600 ሰልጣኞች ስልጠናውን በብቃት አጠናቀዋል፡ 245 ወንድ እና 355 ሴት ሰልጣኞች የተሰጣቸውን ልዩ ልዩ የስልጠና ዘርፎች አሁን አጠናቀዋል።
💼 60 አነስተኛ እና መካከለኛ ኢንተርፕራይዞች (SMEs) ተደግፈዋል፡ ስልጠናው 60 አነስተኛ እና መካከለኛ ኢንተርፕራይዞችን በቀጥታ የሚያጠናክር ሲሆን፣ የአካባቢው ስራ ፈጣሪዎች ከባህላዊ አሰራር ወደ ትርፋማ እና ዘላቂ የንግድ ስራ እንዲሸጋገሩ ያግዛል።
🌱 ሰልጣኞች በአካባቢው ባለው የኢኮኖሚ አቅም ላይ ተመስርቶ የተዘጋጀ የተግባር ልምድ ያገኙ ሲሆን፣ ትኩረቱም በዶሮ እርባታ 🐓፣ በከብት ማድለብ 🐂፣ በወተት 🥛 እና በማር ምርት 🍯 ላይ ነበር።
🏫 5 አጋር ኮሌጆች፡ ይህ ሁለተኛው ዙር ስልጠና ሊሳካ የቻለው ከአምስት የቴክኒክና ሙያ (TVET) ተቋማት ጋር በነበረን ትስስር ነው፤ እነሱም፡ የቡሌ ሆራ፣ የአባያ (ጓንጓ)፣ የቀርጫ፣ ያቤሎ አርብቶ አደር እና የሞያሌ ኮሌጆች ናቸው።

👥🌟 Building on our ongoing efforts under the EU-funded EMPOWER project to strengthen local capacity, we equip youth and women across the Borena and West Guji zones with vital, market-oriented skills. 📈👩‍🌾👨‍🌾
👥 600 Trainees Empowered: 245 male and 355 female trainees have now completed their specialized training paths across the region.
💼 60 SMEs Supported: The training directly strengthens 60 Small and Medium Enterprises, helping local entrepreneurs transition from traditional methods to profitable, sustainable businesses.
🌱 Diverse Value Chains: Trainees gained hands-on experience tailored to their local economic potential, focusing on poultry 🐓, cattle fattening 🐂, dairy 🥛, and honey production 🍯.
🏫 5 Partner Colleges: This second round of training was made possible through our close collaboration with five key TVET institutions: Bule Hora, Abaya (Guangua), Kercha, Yabello Pastoral, and Moyale colleges.

We were honored to participate in the Annual Partnership Consultative Forum held in Bahir Dar on April 28–29! 🏛️ Hosted by the Amhara Bureau of Finance, this event brought together government leaders and over 130 CSOs to align our shared mission in addressing the region’s humanitarian needs. 🇪🇹💪

Collaboration is the key to making a real impact! 🌟 The RISE Consortium bringing together People in Need Ethiopia, Geneva Global, and Center of Concern just wrapped up a productive two-day workshop in Adama. 🏙️

Our teams from across Oromia and Amhara met in person to review our progress and plan for the years ahead (2026-2027). Together, we are working hard to provide emergency education and WASH support to vulnerable communities. 🌍📚💧

From running for safety to sitting in a classroom. 📚✨

In East Wollega, , Nabiya and her children had to leave everything behind to find safety. 🏠🏃‍♀️For a long time, school supplies like books and bags felt like a dream they couldn't reach. 💭🎒 But today, that dream finally came true! Now, her children have the tools they need to learn, grow, and smile again. 😊📝

✏️🎒 We provided 840 children with vital educational equipment thanks to EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid funding.

📚✨ Back to Learning in East Wollega

For many years, conflict and displacement left classrooms in East Wollega silent, forcing countless children to stay away from school and putting their futures on hold.

Today, hope is returning. Through support from the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid - European Union in Ethiopia children are once again stepping into classrooms, reconnecting with their education, and rebuilding their dreams. 🎒✏️

Education is more than lessons, it’s a pathway to stability, opportunity, and a brighter future. 🌱 Together with Geneva Global and Center of Concern, we are making education available to these children.

🌍 Earlier today, partners gathered for the launch of the Global Hunger Index 2025 under the theme “20 Years of Tracking Progress: Time to Recommit to Zero Hunger.”

The high-level event is organized by the African Union Commission, through its Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with national stakeholders in Ethiopia and members ofAlliance2015 🤝

As a member of Alliance2015 we are pleased to take part in this important discussion alongside partners working to strengthen sustainable food systems and community resilience. 🌱

According to the Global Hunger Index 2025, 42 countries continue to face serious or alarming levels of hunger, driven by ongoing conflicts, climate shocks, and economic instability. ⚠️🌍

During the event, representatives from relevant Ethiopian ministries and national institutions shared updates on efforts to reduce food insecurity and malnutrition, including initiatives focused on nutrition, agricultural transformation, and community-level interventions. 🌾🥗

These efforts align with continental commitments under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme, highlighting the importance of collaboration to advance resilient and sustainable food systems across Africa.

Together, continued partnership and commitment are essential to ensuring that no one is left behind. 🤝🌍🌱
