At the beginning of November, we held a gender policy sensitization workshop in Negelle Borana with 60 participants from Women Peace Forums and local government offices in East Borana Zone.
Together, we explored gender policies, challenges women face in leadership, and decision making as well as the support systems that help them participate fully in leadership and decision-making.
Empowered women strengthen entire communities.

APCfC, in collaboration with the Woreda Water, Energy and Mining Office, has completed the rehabilitation of the Lagasure Kebele water pipeline, which connects Xille Mado to Lagasure.
After a year damage, the system was restored between 10–18 November 2025, securing reliable access to safe water for the community.
The rehabilitated water point now serves 550 households (300 men and 250 women), improving daily living conditions and strengthening community resilience.
This intervention reflects our continued commitment to expanding equitable and sustainable water access across pastoralist areas.

We’re excited to share the establishment of three Women Peace Forums in Ogoba, Funan Agartu, and Rukesa Bim Kebeles of Liban Woreda, East Borana Zone!
Over the course of two days in each community, women came together to learn, share, and lead building spaces where dialogue replaces division. Following the sessions, 90 women and girls registered to continue the work of strengthening peace and resilience in their communities.
Every woman’s voice adds strength to the peace we build together.

APCfC , with technical support from Woreda and Zonal experts, has successfully rehabilitated the Fulo Gofa hybrid (motorized & solar) water scheme in Dire Woreda.
This water point is the only major source of water for Gololicha Kebele — serving both families and their livestock. For years, its non-functionality forced many to migrate in search of water.
Now restored, the scheme will benefit:
✅ 800 households (450 men & 350 women)
✅ 500 cattle, 4,500 sheep & goats, and 500 donkeys
The rehabilitation not only secures safe water access but also reduces the time and distance communities spend fetching water, allowing families to live healthier, more resilient lives.

Rebuilding Livelihoods in Borana Zone
From July 15 to August 4, 2025, APCfC Ethiopia helped drought-affected families in Dire and Moyale Woredas rebuild their herds through our ICSP Livelihood Recovery Activity.
What we did:
450 goats distributed to 90 households (45 in Dire – Dalaga & Gololicha kebeles, and 45 in Moyale – Bede & Lagasure kebeles).
Each family received 4 female goats and 1 male goat — for food security, breeding, and income generation.
All goats were screened, vaccinated, and treated in collaboration with Woreda Livestock Resources Development Offices — ensuring healthy and sustainable herds. (4 goats were rejected during screening.)
Together, we’re helping communities recover, rebuild, and thrive!
