We just spent two unforgettable days with the students of Addis Ababa University as part of our Aware, Activate, Change program. Your energy, commitment, and passion for making a difference truly blew us away!

From introducing the work we do at DoW to playing games and connecting with the students, every moment was great.

Big thanks to AAU for being such gracious hosts and The Students that helped us organize this event.

On Wednesday, April 1st, the DoW AMU team conducted a successful awareness creation program at the AMU Community School.

It was amazing to see the students' engagement and the excitement shown during the session.

🌟Making Waves in Arba Minch! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the first official event of DoW Arba Minch Chapter!

🌍💧 To mark World Water Day, DoW AMU partnered with Arba Minch University to host celebrations and awareness-building events centered around the theme of "Water and Gender". The day also featured a panel discussion that explored the intersection of resource access and gender equity. 🤝

There is nothing quite like seeing a vision come to life and seeing this team fully formed, up and running, and working hard to create impact is a moment of immense pride for the entire Drop of Water family. 👏

In many rural communities in Ethiopia, water isn’t something you turn on—it’s something you walk for.

This March, our Project of the Month Club is supporting Drop of Water, a locally led organization building protected spring wells within one kilometer of at-risk households.

Bringing safe water closer to home helps reduce long daily walks and returns time for school, family, and childhood—reaching about 500 people in nearby villages.

As their team shared, support like this allows locally rooted organizations to respond where needs are greatest and create impact that extends far beyond a single project.

They say that when you educate a girl, you change the world. In the communities we serve, the first step to making that change a reality is simple: Access to Clean Water. 💧

Every year, women and girls spend hundreds of thousands of hours walking to collect water; time that belongs in the classroom, in the marketplace, or in the pursuit of their dreams.

👏 This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the resilient women in our community who navigate these challenges every day. At DoW, our mission is to lend a hand by easing this burden, creating the space for every woman to explore her full potential.

Clean water isn’t just about survival; it’s about opportunity. This past Sunday was a celebration of progress, but our work continues every day to ensure that a lack of water never stands in the way of a woman’s future. 💧✨

Society Photo Camp is coming to Ethiopia!

Drop of Water is proud to collaborate with the National Geographic Society to host in Ethiopia. This five-day intensive workshop will equip young participants with photography and writing skills, led by Explorers from the National Geographic.

By integrating this initiative into our Aware, Activate, Change (AAC) youth platform, we ensure that mentorship translates directly into hands-on field experience.

What an incredible way to begin the new year! ✨
This past week, we celebrated the inauguration of several water projects across the Sidama and Southern regions of Ethiopia. In total, nine water points were completed; two dedicated to local schools and seven serving the wider community 💧.

These achievements were made possible through the unwavering support of our longtime partner, Stream Hope Inc. They have consistently stood in our corner, and this success is as much theirs as it is ours. 🤝

Most importantly, we want to thank the people of Sidama and the Southern region. Your warm welcome made us feel at home, and we are truly humbled to serve such vibrant communities. Celebrating this success alongside you was an honor.
