🌱 Cross-Cultural Learning in Action!
For five weeks, six students from Norway joined EECMY-DASSC Addis Ababa Synod Branch Office through the NMS Global Exchange Program.
Working in pairs, they were placed in three projects:
Empowering Persons with Disability, Gulele Women Empowerment Project and Mekanisa Mekane Yesus Child Development Project.
During their stay, the students actively participated in urban agriculture, advocacy, child and mother education, health monitoring, beneficiary follow-up, income-generating activities, and Ethiopia’s Green Legacy tree-planting initiative. They also met government stakeholders and community-based organizations.
They learned by walking with communities, listening to vulnerable women, persons with disabilities, and children, and seeing how grassroots solutions grow from real needs.
Despite culture and language challenges, they found the people warm, welcoming, and inspiring.
This exchange strengthened mutual learning, cross-cultural understanding, and the partnership between NMS and EECMY-DASSC.
