Behind every youth-led program, every community project, and every promise we make, there is careful stewardship of resources. At Ethiopian Youth for Peace and Development , finance is not paperwork. It is how we keep our word to the young people and communities we serve.

We are looking for a ๐…๐ข๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ซ to join our team in Addis Ababa: someone precise with numbers, grounded in integrity, and driven by purpose.

You will manage, donor reporting, and compliance, and help build the financial systems that let our programs deliver real impact.

On 06/06/2026, EYPD convened an international dialogue under the theme Religion, Violence, and Human Rights: Understanding Sub-Saharan Africa Through the Lens of Freedom of Religion or Belief.

We gathered around a simple conviction. The freedom to believe, to worship, and to live according to one's conscience is not a privilege granted by the state. It is a right that belongs to every African by virtue of being human, and it is enshrined in Article 8 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights.

Yet the reality across our continent is sobering. According to the 2025 Religious Freedom in the World Report (Aid to the Church in Need), nearly two-thirds of humanity, some 5.4 billion people, now live in countries where this freedom is seriously violated. As the report itself affirms, much of the violence described as religious is not a contest between faiths.

In the spirit of Agenda 2063 and the African Union's resolve to Silence the Guns, our response must be one of solidarity, not separation. Lasting peace will be built through interfaith dialogue, and through the patient work of bridging communities across every line that would divide us.

Africa remains the youngest continent on earth, with a median age of just 19. Our young people are not only the most affected by these crises. They are the architects of the Africa We Want.

Change does not have to be vast to begin. It only has to begin.

The webinar ended with a call to join our hands in singing the Arise Africa Petition calling for protection, justice and restoration.

Ethiopian Youth for Peace and Development is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Nexus Ethiopia, the Nexus of National Humanitarian Actors in Ethiopia, establishing a three-year framework for collaboration across the humanitarian, development, and peace nexus.

This partnership brings together two organizations bound by a common conviction: that lasting change is led by communities themselves and that young people, women, and grassroots actors belong at the center of humanitarian response, peacebuilding, and resilience across Ethiopia.

Guided by principled humanitarian action and local leadership, Ethiopian Youth for Peace and Development and Nexus Ethiopia will work together to strengthen protection for vulnerable communities, advance peacebuilding and social cohesion, and expand access to education, health and nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and clean water and sanitation.

We will also join hands to mobilize resources, shape policy, and co-create knowledge through joint research, advocacy, and learning.

We are reminded that no single organization can meet the scale of today's challenges alone. It is through partnership, rooted in trust, accountability, and mutual respect, that we move closer to a more peaceful, resilient, and self-reliant Ethiopia.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the leadership and teams of the Nexus Ethiopia for their commitment and to the communities whose strength and aspirations remain at the heart of this collaboration.

The road ahead is shared, and we walk it together.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who stood firm against tyranny to ensure our freedom.

The Patriots Day, teaches us that no obstacle is too great when a generation is united by a clear vision. At EYPD, we believe the best way to honor our patriots is by being โ€œarchitects of progressโ€.
