Some stories begin with pain, but end with purpose.
Today, we welcomed "Yefikr Hig" (The Law of Love) to our center, a volunteer team founded by Meseret, a young woman who once lived on the streets herself.
Like our founder Tilahun, Meseret knows the reality of growing up without the safety and security every child deserves. But instead of allowing her past to hold her back, she chose to turn her pain into compassion and her story into hope for others.
Today, she came back to serve children who are walking a road she knows too well. ❤️
Their name beautifully reflects Galatians 5:22–23—the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

At SAK Ethiopia, our dream is to see more people locally rise up, volunteer, and become part of changing children's lives.
Seeing "Yefikr Hig" reminds us that you don't have to have a perfect past to make a beautiful difference.
Sometimes, the person who once needed hope becomes the person who brings hope.

Before we can teach a child, we must first help them survive.

Some children who come to our Center from the streets have gone a day or even several days without food**. They arrive with empty stomachs, tired bodies, and hearts carrying more than a child should have to carry.
We give them a meal, but we also give them something deeper: a place where they feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Right now, we need help to keep feeding them.

Today was a very special day at Simple Act of Kindness Ethiopia as we welcomed Pastor Anteneh, a man who has known Tilahun for more than 13 years.

He is not only a spiritual leader and mentor, but also the person who baptized Tilahun and has continued to walk with him through different seasons of life.

Today, they sat together again—not only to talk about faith and life, but about the ministry and the children God has placed in our care.

Pastor Anteneh also spent time with the children, listening, encouraging, and sharing their joy.

13 years ago, he poured into Tilahun’s faith. Today, they are standing together to pour hope into the next generation. ❤️🙏
