We are proud to share this recently published pilot study, which evaluated the feasibility of implementing the Vayu bCPAP System in the delivery room and during transport to the NICU at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo, a Level III NICU in Brazil.
Conducted in collaboration with McGill University, the study assessed the use of the Vayu bCPAP System among both preterm and term infants with respiratory distress. It also captured healthcare providers’ perspectives on using the device in this context.
The authors concluded that the Vayu bCPAP System was both feasible to implement and effective in reducing respiratory distress scores among infants born between 31 and 40 weeks’ gestation, highlighting its potential to support respiratory care from the very first moments of life.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who worked on this paper for making this important work possible through their expertise, collaboration, and commitment to improving newborn care.
