💛 Small Hands, Meaningful Impact

We are pleased to share the inspiring story of Estelle Eriksson, a Grade 5 student at ICS who turned her school project into a meaningful act of compassion. Estelle handed over ETB 3,630 to Elnet Foundation, and the contribution is now being directed toward vaccines for animals in Addis Ababa.

Her effort is a beautiful reminder that positive change can begin at any age. During her visit to the Mobile Veterinary Clinic, Estelle showed us how even a simple school project can grow into something that supports animal welfare and strengthens the wellbeing of the wider community.

We sincerely thank Estelle for her kindness, generosity, and inspiring example. Every action counts, and hers will make a difference. 🌍💉🐴

💛 Continued Care for Mothers and Children at Shegger City Prison in Daleti

Today, we donated essential items including diapers, milk, flour and peanut butter to support mothers with children living at Daleti Prison.
This support responds to important daily needs and helps improve the nutrition, care and wellbeing of children growing up in a difficult environment alongside their mothers. It is also a reminder that practical compassion can make a meaningful difference in protecting dignity and health.

We remain grateful for every opportunity to stand with vulnerable families through consistent care and support, and for individual families that chose to donate items through Elnet Foundation. Your care makes a real difference in people’s lives! 🌿

🐴⚠️ Protecting Lives by Eliminating a Public Health Threat
Elnet Foundation’s Mobile Veterinary Clinic responded to a serious public health risk involving a horse reported to have bitten three people. The horse was euthanized to prevent further danger to the community.

This case is an important reminder that horses can also get rabies and transmit it to humans. Rabies is a deadly disease, but it can be prevented through timely medical treatment after exposure and through animal vaccination.

Please stay alert. If you see an animal showing unusual aggression, abnormal behavior, excessive salivation, or other concerning signs, keep your distance and report it immediately. Vaccination remains one of the most important ways to reduce the risk of rabies transmission in animals and people.

A rabid animal usually loses coordination of its limbs as the disease progresses in the animal. This video showcase this exact symptom. Be alert and always keep distance to such animals.

📚🤝 Encouraging Learning and Opportunity Through Partnership
Last week, our team visited Gudina Tumsa Foundation Training Center in Legetafo and Shamida Children’s Home at CCD, two remarkable organizations with work supported by Elnet Foundation.

During the visit, EF donated 50 books to support the library being established at the GTF/KOELIM training center. The center provides training in nine vocational skill areas, including weaving, bamboo work, pottery, and garment production, helping equip young people with practical, income-generating skills.

The visit was also a reminder of EF’s support during the establishment of the training center. We are grateful for partnerships that continue to create learning, opportunity, and hope. 🌱💛

The Shamida forever home is located within the beautiful premises of CCD, where Elnet Foundation through our backdonor is able to provide a rent free, high end housing for this incredible organization. We were pleased to see the amazing work going on each day in supporting the children to live, learn and thrive in the best possible environment Ethiopia has to offer.

🐴💛 Rescue in Action

Yesterday, our team responded to a distress case involving a donkey with a severe injury on its left hind limb in the Nasew Real Estate area. The animal was safely rescued by Elnet Foundation and transferred for treatment.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Ethiopian Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (EARS) for receiving the donkey at their sanctuary and ensuring it gets the care it urgently needs.

Working together allows us to respond faster and provide hope for animals in pain. We look forward to the donkey’s recovery and thank everyone involved in making this rescue possible. 🌿

🌱🏫 Growing Green at Lideta Selam Primary School

School greening activities continue to flourish at Lideta Selam Primary, where students and staff are nurturing vegetable gardens and creative green spaces within the school compound.

These gardens not only beautify the learning environment but also serve as practical learning spaces where students understand the value of nature, sustainability, and healthy food production. From leafy vegetables to creative recycled planters, the school community is turning small spaces into vibrant green corners.

🤝🚑 Partner Meetings to Advance Eezer Rollout

Meetings were held at the EF office with partners from Ethiopian Children’s Fund (ECF) and EECMY DASSC (Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus Development and Social Services Commission) to strengthen coordination for the rollout of the Eezer Motorcycle Ambulance.

During the session, partners presented their implementation plans for launching Eezer services in their respective locations - Ayra Hospital in Wollega and Aleltu North Shoa Zone of Oromia Region.

These discussions reinforce collaboration, alignment, and readiness to expand safe maternal transport where it is most urgently needed. 🌿💛

🚑🌍 Eezer Sweden Team Visits Ethiopia - Strengthening Lifesaving Partnerships 💛

This week, we were honored to welcome the Eezer Sweden team to Ethiopia, represented by Eezer founder Mr. Lars Klingsbo, alongside dedicated supporters Pastor Robert Anderson and Harriet Anderson (Midwife).

A special highlight of the visit was the handover of one Eezer Motorcycle Ambulance to Ethiopian Children’s Fund (ECF) in Aleltu, with ECF founder Mrs. Anna Getaneh present. The occasion was joyfully celebrated by a children’s choir, marking a meaningful moment of partnership and shared purpose.

The team also visited the local clinic serving over 100,000 people in the area - where, on average, ten women give birth every day. These numbers remind us why improving timely access to maternal care is so critical.

The Eezer Motorcycle Ambulance is more than a vehicle - it is a bridge to safe motherhood, hope, and lifesaving care for women in rural communities.

We are grateful for this growing collaboration and look forward to seeing its continued impact. 🌿💛

🐶🐾 Dog Vaccination, Spay & Neuter Campaign - Kirkos Sub-City 💛

In collaboration with Dr. Alem (OHSI), a successful dog vaccination, spay, and neuter campaign was conducted at Kirkos Veterinary Clinic.
This initiative promotes responsible dog population management, improves animal welfare, and strengthens public health through preventive care and surgical services.

🚑 Eezer Motorcycle Ambulance Pilot Project Agreement Signed in Dire Dawa 🌿

A pilot project to implement the Eezer Motorcycle Ambulance Service in Aseliso Cluster, Dire Dawa has been officially signed, with support from Elnet Foundation and the Dire Dawa Development Association.
The pilot project is designed to help pregnant mothers reach nearby health facilities safely and on time, strengthening access to maternal and emergency care in underserved areas.

The main goals of the project are reducing maternal mortality and increasing institutional childbirth in the project operational areas. It was noted during the signing that this initiative is an important step that should be encouraged, with participation from relevant offices and experts, including the Finance and Economic Development Bureau.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to practical, lifesaving solutions that bring care closer to communities. 💛

🧹🐾 Caring for Community Health - One Step at a Time

Today marked the start of a cleanup campaign and mini renovation at the Kirkos Sub-City Vet Clinic, an important step toward strengthening community animal and public health services.

This initiative is a collaboration between Elnet Foundation and One Healthy Society International (OHSI). Together, we are working to promote and implement dog neutering, spaying, and a rabies vaccination campaign in the city.

As the clinic begins to take shape after years of limited use, this effort lays the foundation for a much-needed rabies control program that will benefit both people and animals.

We look forward to sharing progress as the work continues, with the first phase of the program set to begin later this week.
