The Youth Print took part in the 2026 Annual Workshop of the Pan African Coalition for Adaptation and Resilience ( ) in Nairobi, Kenya, contributing to conversations on Africa’s adaptation agenda.

Recent processes in adaptation governance point to a clear shift the constraint is no longer the absence of global frameworks, but the gap between ambition and implementation capacity. While the Global Goal on Adaptation, emerging indicator frameworks, and the Belém–Addis Vision reflect progress in global architecture, their value will be judged by how effectively they translate into resilience at national and community levels, and NAPs increasingly seen as the bridge between global commitments and outcomes.

Looking ahead to and beyond, The Youth Print remains engaged in advancing implementation-focused adaptation through stronger evidence use, better alignment between finance and priorities, and amplifying youth voices in decision-making systems.

Last week, The Youth Print had a meaningful conversation with Joyce Mendez, former UN Secretary-General’s Youth Climate Advisor and Regional Lead for Youth Climate Justice Fund, during her visit to our office.

The discussion highlighted The Youth Print’s work on the AYCA 2025 Declaration and broader youth climate action efforts, while reflecting on lessons from COP23 to COP30 and opportunities to strengthen youth engagement and collaboration in the lead-up to COP32. Joyce also shared valuable insights from her experience in global climate governance and youth participation in policy spaces.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Joyce Mendez for visiting The Youth Print office and for her continued commitment to advancing youth climate leadership and amplifying young people’s voices in global climate governance.

Happy Africa Day 2026, Celebrating 63 Years of Unity, Integration and Development.

Africa’s 63 years of progress reflect a sustained commitment to unity, integration, and development, underscoring both the achievements made and the structural work that remains in advancing continental transformation.

At The Youth Print, this moment is shaped by the shift from ideas to implementation where ideas are shaped, narratives are refined, and collective efforts are aligned toward advancing Africa’s priorities under Agenda 2063.

The Youth Print engaged with the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ethiopia Ozonnia Ojielo (PhD), on strengthening meaningful youth engagement in the country’s climate and development agenda, particularly in the lead-up to .

At The Youth Print, the engagement reflects its continued work to translate youth engagement into structured processes that bridge youth priorities with policy and implementation spaces, ensuring they are elevated, organized, and integrated into outcome-oriented climate action in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

A key highlight was the delivery of the Addis Ababa Declaration from the African Youth Climate Assembly 2025. This reinforces ongoing efforts to advance a unified African youth climate priority through a sustained continental process that aligns youth priorities and strengthens their integration into climate and development decision making space.

The Youth Print followed discussions at the 12th ARFSD and 7th Africa Climate Talks, highlighting Africa’s implementation gap, climate finance systems, and youth in delivery and just transition pathways.

Following , global climate governance is evolving through and , with stronger emphasis on implementation. COP32 is framed around placing implementation at the center of climate action, strengthening institutions, and aligning climate finance with development priorities.

The structural challenge remains clear: climate finance is fragmented and difficult to access, while adaptation is still weakly integrated into planning and budgeting despite its central role in development. Youth are not fully embedded in implementation systems, despite their role in resilience and innovation. Addressing this requires more integrated delivery systems that align finance, institutions, and capacity with youth positioned within them.

At the 12th ARFSD, The Youth Print met with the Chair of the African Group of Negotiators (AGN), Dr. Nana Antwi-Boasiako Amoah .

During the discussion, we shared an overview of our ongoing efforts to strengthen meaningful youth engagement in climate governance and sustainable development processes.

It was emphasized that there is a need to intentionally build the next generation of climate negotiators, ensuring young people are equipped with the technical and policy capacity to meaningfully engage in negotiation processes.

Highlighting the need for continued collaboration, intergenerational engagement, and creating more opportunities for African youth voices to be represented in decision-making spaces.

The 2026 Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” reflects a growing reality: environmental action is increasingly shaped by people, especially young people, through local innovation and everyday decisions.

At The Youth Print, we engage at both ends of this shift understanding how ideas take shape and how they translate into practical action. The priority now is connecting these efforts to policy, finance, and implementation.
