For the past 20 years, New Millennium Women Empowerment Organization has been working across Ethiopia, including contested and hard-to-reach areas, in key thematic areas such as Humanitarian Response, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Gender-Based Violence, Education, WASH, Health and SRHR, Livelihood Improvement, and Climate Justice, Natural Resource Conservation, and Agriculture.

Being a women-led and women-focused organization comes with its challenges, but the rewards are even greater, seeing women and girls gain confidence, resilience, and a voice in their communities is what drives us every day.

This March, as we celebrate Women’s Month, we honor the strength, creativity, and leadership of women everywhere, and reaffirm our commitment to empowering them to shape their futures and lead change in their communities.

This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” emphasizes that investing in women brings meaningful and lasting change. New Millennium Women Empowerment is living proof that investing in, empowering, and supporting women creates powerful transformation within communities.

Women make up more than half of our communities, and real change cannot happen when half of us are held back.
