Mental illnesses vs Medical illnesses in our community
-‐-------------‐---------------------

People who suffer mental illnesses are not always attended to seriously and are usually not taken to the hospital in our community.

They suffer a serious human right violation. They are usually chained, not given food, imprisoned, not allowed to attend school, got into forced marriage, the husband act like he is giving favor to the family of the girl by marrying her, deprived of their social and and community participation, not allowed to get job. They are left out in the family affairs. We always think these people are possessed.

But the opposite holds true. These people should be attended to as much as other people with medical illnesses. When taken to the hospital and given appropriate treatment, they can get well as other people with medical illnesses. They can come back to their sound mind, and function well in all areas of life.

Regard mental illnesses as serious as medical illnesses!
