Emergency WASH Response Update , Debark Woreda, North Gondar

As part of our ongoing Emergency WASH Response for conflict-affected IDPs in Debark Woreda, Faith in Action (FIA) successfully conducted two rounds of periodic sanitation and hygiene awareness sessions across the targeted areas.

On 22 November 2025, we launched the first round of community awareness sessions, and on 26 November 2025, we continued with the second round, reinforcing key hygiene messages in Markets, Schools, Religious centres and Transportation hubs.

Using AV vans (Montarbo/audio-mounted vehicles) along with banners, posters, and flyers, our teams reached wide audiences with life-saving hygiene information.

📍 72,261 people reached during the first round
📍 56,436 people reached during the second round

These sessions equipped communities with practical knowledge on proper sanitation practices, safe water handling, and disease prevention.

These awareness campaigns play a crucial role in reducing WASH-related risks and strengthening community resilience during emergencies.

We had a joyful Children’s Day celebration with our beautiful girls at the safe space established in Abune Baslios Primary School on November 20, 2025. The event was filled with smiles and moments that reminded us why creating safe, supportive environments for girls truly matters.

We were also honored to welcome representatives from CRVPF and cluster partners organization Endurance Youth Association and Tena Kebena, who visited our safe space and joined us in celebrating the girls. Their presence made the day even more special.

Together, we continue to work towards empowering girls, protecting their rights, and ensuring they have a safe place to learn, play, and grow.
