On behalf of Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association (EWNRA), I extend my heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to all women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026.
This year’s celebration also comes shortly after EWNRA marked its 25th anniversary, a milestone that reflects a quarter century of commitment to environmental protection, sustainable natural resource management, and community empowerment in Ethiopia. Throughout these years, women have been at the heart of our efforts—playing vital roles in conserving wetlands, protecting forests, sustaining livelihoods, and strengthening community resilience.
Women’s knowledge, leadership, and dedication are essential for ensuring the sustainable management of natural resources and the wellbeing of present and future generations. At EWNRA, we recognize that empowering women and promoting gender equality are fundamental to achieving lasting environmental and social impact.
As we celebrate this important day, EWNRA renews its commitment to strengthening women’s participation and leadership in environmental conservation and sustainable development. Together, we honor the achievements of women and continue working toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.
