The foundation firmm (foundation for information and research on marine mammals) is dedicated to the research and protection of the whales and dolphins in the Strait of Gibraltar. Our locations serve as research stations for marine biologists and also give everyone opportunities to learn about these fascinating marine animals.

The first s***m whales!

The spring months are always the best time to spot s***m whales in the Strait of Gibraltar. The animals come from the Mediterranean Sea to hunt for giant squid here in the depths of the strait.
The pilot whale Ponce, who appeared with a dorsal fin injury last year, has also shown up in the meantime. Unfortunately, the wound is still visible, but he carries on bravely.

Extraordinary sightings right at the beginning of the season!

Already during the first week, we spotted several groups with newborns, such as these striped dolpins and pilot whales.
The first loggerhead turtle has also been spotted!

The start of the season was a complete success! There were many bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales on the way. Among them, also some animals for adoption, such as the female bottlenose dolphin Lolly, who is always easy to identify by her fungus on the dorsal fin.
