🏆Two years in existence. Two Club Excellence Awards.🏆

We have just learned that Rotary eClub Ibiza International has received Rotary International’s 2025-26 Club Excellence Award.

This follows the same recognition for 2024-25 - our very first Rotary year.

We work hard. We care enormously about getting things right, supporting one another and being useful within our community. We hoped that effort could be felt inside the club and through the work we do. We never expected it to be recognised in this way, twice, by Rotary International.

The certificate honours ReCII “for fostering a positive experience for its members and reflecting the values of Rotary.”

Those words mean a great deal to us.

Every member has helped create the club being recognised here. People have brought forward ideas, accepted responsibility, supported projects and quietly taken care of the work that keeps a young club moving.

We are still slightly stunned. We are also deeply grateful and immensely proud of our whole club.

Our sincere thanks to Rotary International and District 2203 for this extraordinary recognition.

Some Rotary handovers begin with speeches.

Ours began on the beach at Cala Carbó, with members arriving early, swimming in the sea, chatting under sun umbrellas, and slowly gathering for an evening that felt far more like friendship than formality.

ReCII’s 2026 handover dinner marked the close of Ronnie Böhler’s year as President, and the beginning of Donna Roggio’s presidency for 2026-27.

There were speeches, Rotary pins, a standing ovation, the presidential chain, traditional Ibizan food, and a final photograph of ReCII’s three Presidents together at sunset.

Mostly, though, there was the feeling of a young club walking into its next year together.

🥳 Happy Rotary New Year! 🥳

Today we welcome our 2026-2027 Board, and mark the start of a new year of service, friendship and good work here in Ibiza.

Thank you to everyone stepping forward to help guide, organise, support and encourage the club over the year ahead. We’re ready for it 😁

Seven of us spent a Sunday morning in north Ibiza, surrounded by 22 alpacas, a traditional loom and a fertiliser called ... Alcaca... 😁

It started as a speaker visit. Bart joined one of our Monday evening Zoom meetings to tell us about Es Currals Alpacas Ibiza, the island’s first alpaca farm.

A few weeks later, seven of us went to see it for ourselves.

We met King Lewis, the senior alpaca, who was unimpressed by us until we wandered too near the females. Dusty, meanwhile, treats group consensus as advisory. San’s weaving studio, Wishfulfilling Weaving, turns the fleece into handwoven cloth.

And yes, several of us tried the alpaca kiss... 🥰

🏳️‍🌈 What a day! 🏳️‍🌈
On 13 June, some of us from Rotary eClub Ibiza International joined the Pride Ibiza parade, and as far as we can tell we might even have been the first Rotary club in Spain to do so officially.

It was a joyful day, and it was never only that. We've written a little about why we went, and what the day meant to us.

✨Ibiza Professionals Networking ✨ is, of course, about local business connection.

People who live here.
People who work here.
People building, creating, serving, solving, collaborating, and occasionally trying to remember who they met over a glass of wine 😉

But one of the quiet strengths of Rotary is that “local” never has to mean “limited.”

At our most recent event, we were delighted to welcome visiting Rotarians from the UAE and the United States, alongside our own Ibiza-based community.

That is the rather wonderful thing about Rotary.

⚡️1.4 million members.
⚡️46,000 clubs.
⚡️121 years of connection, service, and showing up.

So yes, the ReCII hosted
✨Ibiza Professionals Networking✨
is rooted here, on the island.

But every now and then, the room reminds us that the network is much, much wider.
