✨ Our last summer activity with wrapped up the season beautifully! 💙
Summer may be over, but we’re still smiling thinking about all the fun, games, and creative moments where kids learned about the ocean. 🌞🐚

More than 120 children joined us this summer — exploring, playing, and discovering how to care for our sea. 🌍💧
Because ocean education can never start too early!

Though the last negotiation of the potential Plastic Treaty has happened some time ago, we wanted to bring you a brief, and hoping for better outcomes in the future.

Once hailed as a “once-in-a-generation chance” to mitigate plastic pollution, negotiations broke down after years of talks.

💔 Why it failed:

- No agreement on **production caps**
- Powerful petrochemical lobbies blocking progress
- Weak, voluntary commitments

🌱 What’s next?

- Keep negotiating
- Build coalitions of willing countries
- Strengthen existing agreements

🌍 Plastic pollution is fueling the **triple planetary crisis** of climate change, biodiversity loss & pollution. The fight isn’t over — the world still needs a strong, binding treaty.

🌊 Our 3rd Annual Charity Summer Event 🌞
What an incredible evening we shared at our third charity summer event — a night full of connection, joy, and purpose!

More than 60 like-minded individuals, organizations, companies, and long-time supporters came together to support our mission, learn more about our upcoming projects, and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together so far.🌊

Guests enjoyed a lively ocean-themed pub quiz, followed by an exciting raffle with unique prizes, and wrapped up with our Ocean Auction, where stunning ocean-inspired items were bid on to support our environmental work.

🌍✈️ Learning doesn’t stop on holiday!

This week, we had the joy of running an educational workshop with curious little explorers — from energetic 4-year-olds to thoughtful 10-year-olds, all enjoying their holidays by the Mediterranean.

Through playful, hands-on games, we dove into the fascinating world of key Mediterranean species — and we were blown away by how much they already knew! 🐙🐢🐟

We wrapped it all up with a heartfelt moment: writing postcards to someone they love… or to the sea 💌🌊

Thank you for the opportunity to run a this activity! Travelling becomes even more meaningful when it sparks connection and care for the natural world 💙

🌊💚 Posidonia oceanica: The Hero of the Mediterranean 💚🌊

This ancient seagrass is endemic to the Mediterranean and plays a vital role in marine life:
✅ Produces oxygen
✅ Captures carbon
✅ Protects coastlines
✅ Hosts hundreds of marine species

But here’s the problem… 💔
Plastic pollution, boat anchors, warming waters and sewage are destroying Posidonia meadows — and they take centuries to recover.

⚠️ Every plastic bottle thrown away, every careless anchor dropped, puts this ecosystem at risk.

Let’s protect the underwater forests that protect us.

🌊 Happy Mediterranean Sea Day! 🌊

Today, on 8 July, we shine a spotlight on the heart of our mission — the Mediterranean — and our shared responsibility to protect it. As a Mallorca-based NGO dedicated to fighting plastic pollution, we see firsthand how every choice affects this magnificent sea.

📊 Did you know the Mediterranean receives around 730 tonnes of plastic waste every single day? That’s roughly 33,800 plastic bottles entering our waters every minute, and if trends continue, microplastics could soon outweigh fish in these seas.

That’s why our team on Mallorca works tirelessly to:
• Organize beach and marina clean-ups
• Promote plastic-free boating
• Educate communities on reducing and preventing marine litter

💪 Join us, spread the word, and stay connected—together, we can keep the Mediterranean clean for generations to come!

Some common products are secretly contributing to micro- and nanoplastic pollution. Here are a few you might not expect:

🚫 Teabags
✅ Try loose leaf tea instead! (They anyway taste much better)

🚫 Chewing gum
✅ Swap for natural candies or mints.

🚫 Cigarette butts
⚠️ Double trouble! Not only toxic for your body — the filter can hold up to 7,000 harmful chemicals and breaks down into tiny plastic particles.

🚫 Certain make-ups & party glitter

✅ Leave party glitter only as an Instagram filter and choose for plastic-free cosmetics!

🌱Small swaps = big impact.
