🌊 Learning, creating and caring for our sea! 🐚💙

Over the past few days, we’ve had the opportunity to bring marine education and environmental awareness to children through two wonderful activities with our partners, Puerto Portals and Hotel Ikos

⛵ At Puerto Portals, we enjoyed a fun and educational session with the children from the sailing school. With World Lighthouse Day taking place on 7 August, we used the occasion to discover the fascinating world of lighthouses: why they are so important, how they work, and how they have helped guide sailors safely for generations. 💡🌊 After learning about them, the children put their creativity to work and designed and made their very own lighthouses!

🐠 At Hotel Ikos, we focused on getting children closer to the marine environment. We introduced them to some of the incredible creatures that live in our seas and used a creative colouring activity as a way to talk about something even more important: how we can all help protect the environment and the marine life that depends on it. 🌱🐙

Activities like these remind us that environmental education can start at any age and that learning about our oceans can be just as fun as it is meaningful. A big thank you to Puerto Portal and Hotel Ikos for helping us create these opportunities to connect children with the sea and inspire the next generation of ocean advocates. 🌊✨

🌊💙 World Oceans Day 2026 💙🌊

Today we celebrated World Oceans Day with a seabed and beach clean-up alongside the students and teachers of

Together, we removed and recorded marine litter found on our coastline, helping to protect local ecosystems while teaching the next generation about ocean conservation.

📊 Today’s results:

🧴 Food packaging: 54 items (straws, sachets, bags, ice cream wrappers)
🚬 Cigarette butts: over 2,000
🍾 Glass fragments: 9
🪢 Rope and string: 2 pieces
🔹 Plastic fragments (0–2.5 cm): 6

While it’s encouraging to see so many young people taking action, these numbers remind us that marine pollution remains a serious challenge.

All collected data will be uploaded to the Marnoba platform, contributing to citizen science efforts and helping researchers better understand the sources and impacts of marine litter.

A huge thank you to all the students, teachers, volunteers, and who joined us today. Every piece removed from the beach is one less piece threatening marine life.

The ocean connects us all. Let’s protect it together. 🌍🌊

✨ Our last summer activity with wrapped up the season beautifully! 💙
Summer may be over, but we’re still smiling thinking about all the fun, games, and creative moments where kids learned about the ocean. 🌞🐚

More than 120 children joined us this summer — exploring, playing, and discovering how to care for our sea. 🌍💧
Because ocean education can never start too early!

Though the last negotiation of the potential Plastic Treaty has happened some time ago, we wanted to bring you a brief, and hoping for better outcomes in the future.

Once hailed as a “once-in-a-generation chance” to mitigate plastic pollution, negotiations broke down after years of talks.

💔 Why it failed:

- No agreement on **production caps**
- Powerful petrochemical lobbies blocking progress
- Weak, voluntary commitments

🌱 What’s next?

- Keep negotiating
- Build coalitions of willing countries
- Strengthen existing agreements

🌍 Plastic pollution is fueling the **triple planetary crisis** of climate change, biodiversity loss & pollution. The fight isn’t over — the world still needs a strong, binding treaty.

🌊 Our 3rd Annual Charity Summer Event 🌞
What an incredible evening we shared at our third charity summer event — a night full of connection, joy, and purpose!

More than 60 like-minded individuals, organizations, companies, and long-time supporters came together to support our mission, learn more about our upcoming projects, and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together so far.🌊

Guests enjoyed a lively ocean-themed pub quiz, followed by an exciting raffle with unique prizes, and wrapped up with our Ocean Auction, where stunning ocean-inspired items were bid on to support our environmental work.

🌍✈️ Learning doesn’t stop on holiday!

This week, we had the joy of running an educational workshop with curious little explorers — from energetic 4-year-olds to thoughtful 10-year-olds, all enjoying their holidays by the Mediterranean.

Through playful, hands-on games, we dove into the fascinating world of key Mediterranean species — and we were blown away by how much they already knew! 🐙🐢🐟

We wrapped it all up with a heartfelt moment: writing postcards to someone they love… or to the sea 💌🌊

Thank you for the opportunity to run a this activity! Travelling becomes even more meaningful when it sparks connection and care for the natural world 💙
