🌊♻️ ¡Únete a las SAVE Action: Arena sin Huella!

En el marco de las III Jornadas Internacionales SAVE, organizamos dos jornadas de limpieza y caracterización de residuos en el litoral alicantino. 🌍💙

Estas actividades de ciencia ciudadana, coordinadas por Bioplastic Lab y Ambiente Europeo, se desarrollan en el marco del proyecto europeo ViSS, con la participación de la Universidad de Alicante y distintas organizaciones ambientales.

Durante las jornadas, los participantes colaborarán en la recogida, clasificación y caracterización de residuos, contribuyendo a generar información sobre su presencia y tipología. 🔬🌱

📍 SAVE Action I – Calp (Peñón de Ifach)
📅 Sábado 17 de octubre | 10:00 h

🚌 Transporte en autobús desde la UA:

* Salida: 8:30 h desde el aparcamiento de la Facultad de Educación.
* Regreso: 14:45 h desde el restaurante Baydal (Calp).

On September 23rd, we had the pleasure of attending the General Assembly in Alhama de Murcia.

It was a great opportunity to meet with all project partners, share the latest progress and results, and discuss the next steps towards developing more sustainable and circular solutions. 🔬♻️

A big thank you to all the organizers for the warm welcome and for making the meeting possible, and to all the partners for the productive discussions and collaboration.

It was a pleasure to meet again and keep moving the project forward together! 💚

🌊🔬 Science, awareness and action during Erasmus MARIS Week!

Bioplastic Lab took part in Erasmus MARIS Week at the Escuela del Mar in Burriana, where students from schools across Europe came together to present the results of their microplastic monitoring in rivers. 🌍

As part of the programme, our team gave an awareness talk on plastic pollution and led a citizen science beach clean-up, putting science into practice while raising awareness about the impact of waste on our environment. ♻️🌊

It was a great opportunity to share knowledge, connect science and education, and engage young students in the fight against plastic pollution. 💚

🔬🌍 The civilization of waste

Bioplastic Lab took part in the “Communicating Science in the 21st Century – 2026” course at the University of Alicante, discussing one of today’s major environmental challenges: plastic pollution. ♻️

We shared our work on the , developing more sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics, and , studying microplastic pollution and its impacts on agricultural soils. 🌱🔬

🌊🔬 Last week, we took part in the Erasmus MARIS teacher training programme on microplastics, a European initiative that combines citizen science, marine education, and environmental monitoring. Erasmus MARIS aims to engage schools and teachers in harmonised microplastic monitoring through scientific protocols and hands-on learning, helping build a collaborative network for environmental awareness and research.

The training brought together teachers for theoretical and practical sessions on microplastic sampling, laboratory analysis, and scientific data management, providing tools to bring environmental science into the classroom and strengthen ocean literacy.

It was great to see such enthusiasm and engagement throughout the sessions — a very successful training experience! 🌍♻️

🌱♻️ Last Tuesday, May 5th, we had the opportunity to participate in the "I Feria de la Sostenibilidad" organized by the Universidad de Alicante.

During the event, we shared the work carried out at Bioplastic Lab, focusing on the impacts of plastic pollution, as well as the importance of developing more sustainable solutions through research and innovation. 🔬🌍

It was a great experience to connect with students, researchers, and visitors interested in sustainability, circular economy, and environmental protection.

Last Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from CY Cergy Paris Université (France) to our facilities. 🎓🌍

During their visit, we presented some of our ongoing research projects, including ViSS and Agrimicro, while fostering international collaboration and student exchange opportunities.

🌱♻️ ¡Nos vemos en la I Feria de la Sostenibilidad!

El próximo martes 5 de mayo, el equipo de Bioplastic Lab estará presente en la feria organizada por la Universidad de Alicante.

Será una gran oportunidad para compartir nuestro trabajo en el estudio de los impactos de la contaminación por plásticos en distintos entornos, como los sistemas agrícolas y urbanos.
