🌺 THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN SEE POPE LEO XIV DURING HIS VISIT TO GRAN CANARIA 🌺

Many visitors are asking whether they will be able to see Pope Leo XIV during his visit to Gran Canaria on Thursday 11th June.

📍 ARGUINEGUÍN
The Pope is scheduled to visit the Port of Arguineguín as part of a humanitarian event highlighting migration and the work being carried out in the Canary Islands.

⚠️ The port area and other parts of town will be a high-security zone with restricted access.

The invited guests are expected to include migrants, rescue workers, fishermen, charities and others involved in humanitarian work.

The Pope is not expected to make a public procession through the streets of Arguineguín, and access to the port itself will be limited to invited participants.

If you would like to see Pope Leo XIV in person, your best opportunity is expected to be in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The Pope is scheduled to travel through the historic Vegueta district before visiting Santa Ana Cathedral.

Many people are expected to gather along the route between:

📍 Plaza de Santa Ana
📍 Santa Ana Cathedral
This is currently expected to be the main public viewing area and no ticket is required.

Later that day, Pope Leo XIV will celebrate Mass at the Gran Canaria Stadium.

Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.

Well it’s been quiet so far this week , hopefully things will pick up again.

We still have to cover our overheads each month .

So any help would be appreciated.

Or just pop in the shop and buy something nice 👍 lots of folks call in and say hi which we love ❤️ but we do need donations to keep going .

Tomorrow we are expecting some modern vinyl’s in which could be interesting 🧐.

If you have any coins hiding around the hoose our jar is filling up nicely to pay our electric bill.

We have a lot to cover each month and obviously May and June are the quietest throughout the year .

We had some lovely guests in the store who left little extras when finding something ,so a donation of 8 became 10 , bread that’s 4.25 they paid 5 , a lovely regular couldn’t find anything today but left 5 for the pot .

These little extras do help a lot .

Look after the pennies and they soon grow .

Finding the rent is always tense as the month ends, but we’re nearly there after taking care of those others who need our help .

If we’re late we get fined so much per day so we always try and make sure we pay on time .

Doggie day care numbers are going not many ,left I check tomorrow thanks to

We are on duty today from 10 until 3 pm .

Wednesdays are Wonderful ,sometimes weird , always worthwhile , and working with so many amazing willing volunteers ,makes the day without a doubt wacky Wednesday .

If you fancy some wacky moments pop in and see the crew today , Sandra could be on ironing duty and always ready to chat.

Absolutely enjoy the various family owned businesses

Of course, half board suits some people — but it’s nice to be aware of the choice, and the positive impact that eating locally can have on the village and the people who live and work here.
