5 Mistakes That Prevent You From Speaking a Foreign Language

Many people study a language for months or even years, but still fear to have a real conversation.

Often it’s not a matter of ability. It’s the mistakes that almost all beginners make.

❌ Mistake #1: Waiting for the perfect moment

“First I’ll learn the grammar, then I’ll start speaking.”

But you need to speak while you’re learning the language, not after. Otherwise, the fear of communicating never goes away.

❌ Mistake #2: Fearing Mistakes

The paradox is that it’s through mistakes that we learn to speak.

Native speakers don’t expect you to speak perfectly. They expect communication.
