Gato Azul is a Coliving and Coworking space for remote workers right in the centre of La Orotava, one of the most beautiful towns in Tenerife, Canary Islands.

The building is a 300 years old house that we remodelled to offer coliving and coworking areas where you can enjoy focused work and be productive, while enjoying views to the ocean; and also make the most of your free time connecting to other like-minded people from all around the world.

Have you ever been to Teide National Park? 🌋

Just about an hour away from the coast, the landscape completely changes — from green valleys to volcanic lava fields, red and black rocks and wide open spaces that feel almost unreal.

It’s no surprise that this area is often used as a filming location for “Mars-like” scenes. The altitude, the dry climate and the volcanic terrain create a landscape that feels more like another planet than an island.

Throwback to our first rooftop Community Dinner of the season ✨

One of our guests, Matouš, decided to take over the kitchen together with his girlfriend and cook for everyone. The result: a delicious vegan paella, with different toppings (including shrimp for those who wanted), served with a fresh salad.

We shared the meal together up on the rooftop, watching the evening slowly turn into night. It was a little chilly, but that just meant everyone grabbed a blanket and got a little closer around the table.

Moments like these are what community at Gato Azul is all about 💙

While many people spent the last Sunday at the beach, we headed up into the forests of Aguamansa instead 🌲

Cool mountain air, pine forests and trails that were sometimes a little more adventurous than expected (thanks to some construction along the way 😅).

But that’s part of the fun — exploring together, getting a little sweaty and ending the hike tired but happy.

Community Dinner is back ☀️

We shopped together, cooked together and shared a cozy Monday evening with pasta, veggie bolognese, dips, bread and guacamole — plus great conversations and good energy around the table.

The pasta even passed the ultimate test:

Have you been to the sweet piece of paradise, called Taborno? Us neither! But, we can definitely recommend it. Walked a wonderful 2h hike up in Anaga, looking into many sweet valleys and over to Taganana.
